When patients are released from hospital much of their after-care is provided informally by family and friends. These caregivers are often not trained for the complexity of conditions they're tending to. They can become isolated, burdened, emotionally and physically stressed under the long hours and hard work. Caregivers are subsequently prone to ignore their own symptoms and may end up becoming ill themselves. The Agenda convenes a panel of health care practitioners and caregivers to discuss what life is like for the "hidden patient."
