Syrian Refugees in Ontario Schools

The Agenda with Steve Paikin

Ontario is welcoming 10,000 Syrian refugees, 50 per cent of whom are children, at an estimated cost of $10.5 million over two years. Young newcomers have limited English language skills and may have gaps in their education as well as lingering trauma, all a result of the five-year civil war at home. The Agenda examines how Syrian students are settling in to schools across the province, and how well Ontario's schools have handled the influx.
