A two-year-old dog named Merel has helped hundreds of families since starting her career as a companion and comforter to children testifying in court procedures. The Cambridge-based organization that trained the Labernese (Labrador retriever-Bernese Mountain cross) also helps kids living with autism, and people dealing with PTSD.
