Deemed one of the deadliest, most bothersome pests on Earth, mosquitoes can carry and transmit deadly diseases to humans- the Zika virus being their latest cargo. There is a pressing need to squash the Zika virus outbreak in Central and South America, and genetically modified mosquitoes could be the answer.
