In April 2020, 80 per cent of the population - including staff and residents - at Brampton's Ontario Correctional Institute, a province-run facility, tested positive for COVID-19. The facility closed, making it the first in Ontario to do so in the pandemic, and remains so today. TVO.org assistant editor Ashley Okwuosa reports on the timeline of events, and what was done - or not done - to protect all involved.
