Ep. 3 - Legends of Food

The Polar Sea

Described Video:
As the Arctic summer fully blooms, the explorers cross Baffin Bay to the Inuit village of Pond Inlet. A journey that once took two months now takes only four days, and the region's new accessibility has brought an unprecedented wave of tourists - one of the many mixed blessings of climate change. While bringing much-needed cash, it's harder for locals to get the wild food that has sustained them for generations. Making pictures of animals now provides a more reliable living than hunting them.
