Building a More Inclusive Jury System

The Agenda with Steve Paikin

When Saskatchewan farmer Gerald Stanley was found not guilty of the 2016 shooting death of Colton Boushie, a 22-year-old Cree man, it called into question the fairness of the Canadian justice system for Indigenous people. These same issues were front and centre in a 2013 report to the provincial government titled, "First Nations Representation on Ontario Juries." The Agenda welcomes Frank Iacobucci, the report's author and former justice of the Supreme Court of Canada, to discuss the implication of this verdict.
