Autism Plan Recommendations for Ontario

The Agenda with Steve Paikin

In the early days of Ontario PC government's mandate, major changes were proposed to programs and services for children with autism. That prompted a huge reaction from families and experts, which led to a policy reversal, the shuffling of the cabinet minister responsible, and the creation of a task force to recommend a better way forward. Last week, the report of the Ontario Autism Program Advisory Panel came in. The Agenda welcomes the panel co-chairs, Margaret Spoelstra, executive director of Autism Ontario; and Marie Bountrogianni, former Ontario minister of children and youth, to discuss the findings and recommendations.
