A title appears inside the shape of a house: More to Life. Words spin against a red and orange background: Health, Family, Home, Money, Fitness, Life. Fast clips show images related to the previous concepts, such as a dollar bill, a wheat field, and strands of DNA.

In animation, the title appears inside the shape of a house: "More to life."

Then, Mary Ito sits in a studio with textured yellow walls and plants in the background.

Mary is in her late thirties, with short black hair and bangs. She's wearing a gray blouse.

She says Hello, I'M MARY ITO. WELCOME TO MORE TO LIFE. LATER IN THE SHOW, THREE BROIDS WILL GIVE YOU A SNEAK PEEK INTO THEIR BIG FAT ETHNIC WEDDINGS. FIRST A PEEK AT THE WEDDING INDUSTRY THROUGH THE EYES OF THE EXPERTS, EVERY BRIDE WANTS THEIR DAY TO BE PERFECT, AFTER ALL, THE WEDDING MAGAZINES INSIST THAT IT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT DAY OF YOUR LIFE. BUT SOMETIMES LIFE GETS IN THE WAY OF THE PERFECT WEDDING. HERE TODAY ARE THREE WOMEN WHO HAVE WITNESSED THOUSANDS OF WEDDING DAYS, SOME PERFECT, SOME NOT SO PERFECT. YVETTE IS A WEDDING PLANNER...

Yvette is in her thirties, with shoulder-length auburn hair and bangs. She's wearing a white blazer, black shirt, and silver pendant necklace.

Mary continues Sara is A NONDENOMINATIONAL MINISTER...

Sarah is in her fifties, with long blond hair in an updo and bangs. She's wearing a cream suit and blouse, and a chain necklace.

Mary continues AND CATHERINE IS A WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER....

Catherine is in her early thirties, with chin-length straight brown hair. She's wearing a lavender shirt.

Mary continues AND WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU TODAY, DID YOUR WEDDING TURN INTO, WELL, MAYBE SOMETHING FROM A COMIC STRIP. OR HAVE YOU EVER BEEN TO ONE THAT COULD BE CLASSIFIED AS BEST HORROR STORE. OR PERHAPS YOU HAD A REALLY UNIQUE FABULOUS WEDDING OR YOU KNOW OF SOMEONE THAT DID. CALL IN WITH ALL OF YOUR WEDDING STORIES, WE CAN ALSO HELP WITH WEDDING PLANNING ADVICE. SO NOW A YOUR CHANCE TO ASK THE EXPERT. THE NUMBER TO DIAL IS...

A caption reads "416-484-2727. 1-888-411-1234."
Then, it changes to "moretolife@tvo.org"

Mary continues I'LL START WITH YOU FIRST, YOU ARE THE WEDDING PLANNER. I SAID A PERFECT WEDDING DAY. IS THERE SUCH A THING AS A PERFECT WEDDING DAY?

The caption changes to "Yvette Shier. Wedding Planner."

Yvette says EVERYBODY'S WED SUGGEST PERFECT IN THEIR OWN WAY. I AM SURE EVERYBODY LIKES TO THINK MY WEDDING WAS THE PERFECT DAY. THERE'S ALWAYS LITTLE THINGS THAT GO WRONG. I AUFERN TELL MY BRIDES EVEN THOUGH WE HAVE PLANNED VERY METICULOUSLY AND EVERYTHING HAS BEEN DONE, AS BEST WE CAN. THERE WILL BE SOMETHING THAT WILL GO WRONG. IT WON'T BE BIG BUT SOMETHING SMALL.

Mary says IT'S INEVITABLE.

Yvette says IT'S INEVITABLE. I THINK THAT MAKES THE WEDDING REAL. IF EVERYTHING IS SO UTTERLY FLAWLESS, IT'S ALMOST UNREAL AND UNNATURAL.

Mary says YOU KNOW, I AM GLAD YOU SAY THAT, YOU KNOW, SAR AYOU HAVE DONE SO MANY WEDDINGS. BECAUSE MAGAZINES AND EVERYWHERE HYPE IT UP SO MUCH. THIS IS HOW AND THAT EX-TECH TAINGZS AND UNREASONABLE.

The caption changes to "Reverend Sarah Bunnett-Gibson. Nondenominational Minister."

Sarah says VERY AUFERN. ABSOLUTELY. I ASKED PEOPLE TO THINK OF THEMSELVES AS HUMAN BEINGS, YOU KNOW, AND SOME N SOME CASES HUMAN BEINGS THAT HAVE NOT DONE MUCH MORE THAN PLAN A GARAGE SALE AND SUDDENLY THEY'RE DOING A WEDDING FOR 250 PEOPLE, IT'S VERY IMPORTANT TO HAVE SOMEONE LIKE YVETTE AROUND. IF THEY HAVE EXPECTATIONS THAT ARE UNREALISTIC, THEY COULD BE COURTING DISASTER UNLESS THEY ARE VERY REALISTIC ABOUT WHAT THEY THINK THEY CAN DO, WHAT THEY CAN AFFORD TO DO AND THE SKILLS TO DO. IF THEY DON'T HAVE THE SKILLS THEN WHY NOT HIRE PEOPLE THAT CAN HELP THEM.

Mary says WHETHER YOU ACT AS THE INTER MEDE YAER AND THAT CAN BE VERY IMPORTANT. YOU HAVE THE BRIDE AND GROOM AND THEN YOU HAVE FAMILYS AND YOU CAN BE A BUFFER RIGHT BETWEEN THEM SOMETIMES.

The caption changes to "Today's topic: Wedding horror stories."

Yvette says YOU KNOW, TELL ME WHAT YOU WANT TO SEE AND I'LL TELL THE MOTHER IN LAUCHLT YOU HAVE TO LIVE WITH HER, SHE'S ONLY GOING SEE ME THAT ONE DAY. SO IF THERE'S ANYTHING YOU WANT, LET ME, YOU KNOW, LET ME TELL THEM, IT'S DIFFERENT WHEN IT COMES FROM A PROFESSIONAL. PEOPLE DON'T FEEL SO EMOTIONAL ABOUT IT. AND OFTEN FAMILY DOS FEEL THAT THEY'RE NOT GETTING WHAT THEY WANT AND IF A PRO FEINGAL SAYING THIS IS THE BETTER CHOICE AND HERE ARE THE REASONS WHY, THEY USUALLY RELAX, THEY DON'T TAKE IT SO PERSONALLY AND THEY SAY, OKAY, WE'RE GOING TO LISTEN TO HER. SHE'S THE EXPERT THE DAUGHTER OR THE OTHER MOTHER-IN-LAW SAYING IT, IT IS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. IT'S NOT RECEIVED WITH THE SAME OPEN EARS. ABSOLUTELY.

Mary says CATHERINE, YOU ARE A PHOTOGRAPHER, OF ALL OF THE WEDDINGS. I MEAN, I DON'T KNOW HOW YOU FEEL ABOUT THIS. HOW MANY WOULD YOU SAY HAVE GONE PERFECTLY, JUST SWIMMINGLY OR IS THERE ALWAYS SOMETHING THAT GOES WRONG.

Catherine says I MEAN, I WOULD AGREE. THERE'S DEFINITELY LITTLE THINGS THAT GO WRONG. WE WERE TALKING ABOUT THIS. THE IDEA OF A PERFECT WEDDING FOR ME, TOO, THE THINGS THAT DO GO WRONG, THE BRIDE AND GROOM NEVER KNOW ABOUT. IT'S US BEING...

Mary says EXACTLY.

The phone numbers and email reappear briefly.

Catherine says BUT, YOU KNOW, IT'S ABOUT TRUSTING YOUR SUPPLIERS SO THAT IF SOMETHING DOES GO WRONG, THAT YOU WILL NEVER KNOW ABOUT IT AS A BRIDE AND GROOM, RIGHT. SO WE TAKE OVER AND WE MAKE IT RIGHT. YOU KNOW, SO IT NEVER GETS TO THEM.

Yvette says SO AFTER THE WEDDING, WE HAVE HAD SORT OF RECAP, HOW DID EVERYTHING GO, YOU DNLT KNOW THIS BUT THIS IS WHAT HAPPENED. YOU ARE KIDDING. THAT'S GREAT, YOU TOOK CARE OF THAT. A LOT OF TIMES THERE ARE LITTLE THINGS, THE KITCHEN IS MESSED UP OR SOMEBODY IS LATE AND WE HAVE TO JUST CHANGE THE TIME A LITTLE BIT. SO PEOPLE DON'T REALIZE...

Catherine says OR THE CAKE IS MELTING SO YOU JUST MOVE IT INTO THE FRIDGE.

Mary says THE CAKE IS MELTING? TRUE? AN ICE CREAM CAKE? WHY IS IT MELTING?

Catherine says THE ICING GOT SOFT SO IT STARTS TO MELT, IF YOU CAN MOVE IT BEFORE THE BRIDE AND GROOM SEE IT. THAT A BONUS.

Mary says TELL ME WHAT SORT OF PHOTOGRAPHY YOU DO. WE HAVE SAMPLES OF YOUR WORK.

Catherine says I DO MORE OF PHOTO JOURNALISTIC THAT IS BECOMING VERY POPULAR NOW.

Mary says WHAT DOES IT MEAN?

A picture shows an elderly woman helping a young bride wear a white floral choker necklace as they both laugh.
A black and white picture shows a young woman whispering something into a young bride's ear.

Catherine says IT MEAN WHS I'M TRYING TO DO IS CAPTURE THE MOMENTS BETWEEN THE BRIDE AND GROOM AND THEIR FAMILY AND THEIR FRIENDS, NOT THE MOMENTS THAT I'M STANDING IN FRONT OF THEM AND THAT THEY ARE LOOKING AT ME, SMILING. IT'S ABOUT THOSE INTIMATE MOMENTS LIKE THAT ONE ON THE AIR RIGHT NOW.

Mary says THAT IS A GREAT SHOT. YOU CAN JUST IMAGINE. WHAT IS SHE TELLING HER. WHAT GREAT ADVICE OR...

Catherine says EXACTLY. AND THOSE ARE THE ONES I SEEK. I SEEK THOSE OUT AND THERE ARE THOUSANDS DURING THE WEDDING. THERE ARE MOMENTS LIKE THAT HAPPENING ALL OVER. SO MY, MY PURPOSE THERE IS TO CAPTURE THOSE MOMENTS SO THAT WHEN THEY SEE THAT, I HAD NO IDEA YOU TOOK THAT PHOTO. BUT THERE IS A LITTLE... THERE'S SOMETHING GOING ON THAT JUST RELIEVES SOME SORT OF EMOTION...

In a black and white picture a groom helps a bride adjust her veil as he smiles.
In a colour picture, a woman holds a young bride's face as they look into each other's eyes.

Mary says THIS ONE GOT PUBLISHED DIDN'T IT? I REMEMBER THIS ONE.

Catherine says THAT'S JUST ONE VERY PROUD MOTHER AND THAT... THOSE MOMENTS HAPPEN SO MUCH DURING THE WEDDING. PARNLTS ARE SO PROUD OF THEIR CHILDREN, YOU KNOW, AND WHAT THEY HAVE ACCOMPLISHED UP UNTIL NOW AND WHAT THEY CAN SHARE THEM WITH.

In a black and white picture, a bride sits alone at a large table laden with scraps of food.

Mary says I LOVE THIS PHOTO. THIS LOOKS LIKE SOME VINTAGE PHOTO FROM THE 1950'S. YEAH, IT'S TIMELESS.

Catherine says THIS IS A TIMELESS PHOTO THAT WILL GO ON FOREVER.

Mary says YOU SEE, THAT PHOTO. YOU DIDN'T TELL HER TO SIT THERE AND THAT YOU WERE GOING... IT WAS A SPONTANIOUS.

Catherine says THAT WAS A RARE MOMENT. THAT IS A BRIDE SITTING THERE ACTUALLY EATING HER DINNER. IS THIS TEND NOT HAVE TO A CHANCE TO EAT DINNER AND MAKE THE SPEECH. SHE WAS ALSO GOING THROUGH HER SPEECH. BECAUSE A MINUTE LATER, SHE WAS READING, SO SHE WAS TAKING A MOMENT FOR HERSELF AND, YOU KNOW, I JUST SAW THAT.

Mary says NOW, OF ALL OF THOSE PHOTOS.

In a colour picture a bride and groom kiss as they dance.

Mary says WONDERFUL, OF COURSE. NOW SEE THAT'S INTERESTING, THAT'S COLOR. THERE WERE A COUPLE THAT WERE BLACK AND WHITE. IS THERE A PREFERENCE TODAY? MOVING MORE TOWARDS BLACK AND WHITE.

The caption changes to "Catherine Lash. Wedding Photographer."

Catherine says I HAVE HAD PEOPLE TO PHOTOGRAPH THE WEDDING ALL IN BLACK AND WHITE. I WON'T DO THAT. IF YOU CAN HAVE THE OPTION OF BOTH, WHY WOULD YOU WANT IT ALL IN BLACK AND WHITE BUT THERE'S DEFINITELY MORE PEOPLE ASKING FOR BLACK AND WHITE. THE PARENTS ARE NOT ASKING FOR IT. WHY WOULD YOU WANT BLACK AND WHITE? SOME OF THEM THAT'S THE ONLY OPTION THEY HAD. BUT I SHOOT A LOT OF THE FAMILY PHOTOS IN COLOR AND THEN IT'S THOSE... IT'S VERY SPECIFIC MOMENTS THAT I TEND TO SHOOT IN BLACK AND WHITE AND REALLY SORT OF, AS WE SAID, TIMELESS MOMENTS, SO THEY USUALLY LEAVE IT UP TO ME.

Yvette says YOU REALLY CAPTURE THE EMOTION IN BLACK AND WHITE BECAUSE YOU DON'T HAVE ALL OF THE OTHER DISTRACKS TO LOOK AT AS YOU DO IN A COLOR PHOTO WHEN YOU SEE THE BEAUTIFUL FLORALS AND REALLY CAPTURE THE FACES AND THAT POWERFUL BRIDE WITH HER BACK TO THE CAMERA, YOU JUST FEEL, YOU KNOW SHE'S AT PEACE AND A MOMENT TO TAKE HER, CATCH HER BREATH.

Mary says YEAH.

Catherine says IT'S IMPORTANT, TOO, TO HAVE, TO TAKE THE COLOR BECAUSE YOU SPENT SO MUCH TIME DECIDING THE COLOR OF YOUR FLOWERS, THE COLOR OF THE DRESSES, SO IT'S REALLY IMPORTANT TO HAVE THAT DOCUMENTED AS WELL.

Mary says HOW MANY WEDDINGS HAVE YOU FRBLTED.

Sarah says IT'S UNBELIEVABLE. TAKE A DEEP BREATH. OVER 3,000. IN FACT, I GUESS THIS WEEKEND IT WILL BE HITTING SORT OF 3, 564.

Mary says ANY RETURN VISITS?

Sarah says NO.

Mary says OUT OF 3,000? ORIGINAL WEDDINGS.

Sarah says WELL, YES. I DON'T WANT TO BE IN THE BUSINESS OF MARRYING SOMEBODY TWICE. NO THANKS.

Mary says MAYBE THEY LIKED YOU SO MUCH.

Sarah says NO, I DO THE COUSINS, SISTERS, BROTHERS, PARENTS OF THE COUPLE, SURE. THAT'S FAMILY VISITS, NOW THAT'S SOMETHING TO GET PRETTY EXCITED ABOUT. I LOVE THAT.

Mary says WHAT ABOUT THE FACT YOU ARE A NONDENOMINATIONAL MINISTER. EXPLAIN WHAT THAT MEANS.

Sarah says A LOT OF PEOPLE DON'T KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS, THIS IS A GOOD THING FOR THE VIEWERS. IT MEANS, FIRST OF ALL, THAT I HAVE THE PERMISSION TO MARRY PEOPLE OF DIFFERENT FAITHS, IN A CHURCH OR OUTSIDE OF A CHURCH. SO THAT MEANS GOLF CLUB, TORONTO ISLAND.

Mary says HOT AIR BALLOON?

Sarah says HOT AIR BALLOON.

Mary says THIS IS GOOD.

Sarah says FOR A HOT AIR BALLOON.

Mary says SWIMMING POOL.

Sarah says HAVEN'T DONE THAT.

Mary says WHERE DO YOU DRAW THE LINE?

Sarah says WE HAD NUDISTS IN LAST WEEK.

Mary says I AM NOT FOR THEM. NOT GOING THERE.

Yvette says A RABBI THAT MARRIED A COUPLE OF BIRDS WHICH WAS JUST

Mary says MARRIED A COUPLE OF BIRDS? YOU STICK TO HUMANS.

Sarah says NO BIRDS, NO BIRDS. HUMANS ARE WILD AND WACKY ENOUGH FOR ME. THERE'S PLENTY, I AM GOING TO STAY AWAY FROM THE ANIMAL KINGDOM.

Mary says TELL ME WHAT WAS THE ZANYEST... LIKE REAL MEMABLE WEDDING THAT YOU HAVE DONE.

Sarah says THE ONES THAT STILL MAKE ME LAUGH WHEN I THINK OF THE STORIES, YOU KNOW FOUR OR FIVE YEARS LATER, THEY GOT TO GO TO THE TOP OF THE LIST. AND I THINK ONE THAT I JUST FIND SO SWEET IS, THE BRIDE WAS UP IN THE LIMO. A BIG WEDDING PARTY, THERE WERE EIGHT PEOPLE IN FRONT OF HER, FLOWER GIRL, RING BOY, EVERYBODY. AND WE WERE DOWN IN THE PARK WAITING FOR HER AND THE GROOM AND THE BEST MAN AND THE URBERS WERE ALL TO MY SIDE AND THERE'S THIS HUGE PATH THAT SHE'S GOING TO WALK ALONG. AND THERE'S ABOUT 150 PEOPLE GATHERED THERE. ED AND THIS WEDDING HAS TO HAPPEN ON TIME. THE TIMES WAS QUITE CRUCIAL AND SHE STARTS TO WALK AND I TURN TO THE GROOM AND I SAY, OKAY, BUSH THE BUTTON ON THE CD PLAYER. HE TURNS AROUND AND PUSHES THE BUTTON AND NOTHING HAPPENS. SHE'S STILL GETTING CLOSER AND A LITTLE BIT CLOSER TO US. AND THEN I GET THE BEST MAN IN UNITED STATES BAY FIGURE THE GROOM IS SO NERVOUS HE CAN'T DO THE HAND CONTROL SO PERHAPS THE BEST MAN SHOULD STEP IN. HE STEPS IN. PUSH BUTT ONS, NOTHING HAPPENS. SHE'S GETTING CLOSER. WE OPEN UP THE BACK OF THE BRAND-NEW CD PLAYER WHICH TURNS OUT THEY HAD JUST BOUGHT THAT DAY, THERE WERE NO BATTERIES IN IT. SO I DID WHAT ANY SELF-RESPECTING MINISTER WOULD DO, PUT MY HAND AND GO, STOP TO THE BRIDE DELEGATE TO RUN UP AND TELL HER, STALL, STALL, STALL, WAIT, WAIT AND I LOOKED TO THE GATHERED GUEST AND I SAID, I AM SURE THAT THERE IS A SINGER HERE, NOW WE NEED A SINGER IMMEDIATELY SO DON'T BE SHY, COME FORWARD AND SAY, YOU KNOW, NO ONE CAME FORWARD.

Mary says YOU ARE A QUICK THINKER. IS THERE LIKE A...

Sarah says YOU HAVE TO BE A QUICK THINKER. SO, SO THEN, NEXT MOVE IS NOBODY COMES FORWARD, AND I'M GOING, IT'S GOING TO BE ME? I'M GOING TO BE DOING THE SERVICE AND SING AT THE SAME TIME. NOW I'M NOT A BAD AMATEUR SINGER BUT COME ON. I KNOW SHOW TIN TOOUNS AND THE LYRICS TO THE BEATLES YOU KNOW.

Mary says HELLO DOLLY.

Sarah says IT'S NOT GOING TO FIT. SO I SAID WE'RE NOT STARTING THIS WEDDING UNTIL SOMEBODY COMES FORWARD. WELL BLESS THEIR HEARTS, TWO BRAVE SORT OF 17 YEAR OLD, 19 YEAR OLD CAME FORWARD AND SAID, WE WANT A TALENT CONTEST 1950 LOVE SONTION AND WE CAME IN SECOND. I WENT SECOND IS GOOD ENOUGH. YOU ARE ON. AND THEY SAID, YOU SING WHAT YOU KNOW. SO THEN WE SENT THE GENTLEMEN BACK TO GET THE BRIDE AND COME ON DOWN THE AISLE. SHE'S LOOKING STRANGE AT THIS POINT, WHAT'S GOING ON. AND SUDDENLY THESE TWO YOUNG LADIES ARE SINGING THEIR HEARTS OUT WITH THEIR 1950'S LOVE SONG MEDLEY, OF COURSE.

Mary says AND THAT'S GREAT.

Sarah says EVERYBODY'S SMILING AND LAUGHING. WAS THE BRIDE SMILING?

Sarah says NO. THERE IS A TRUTH. SHE WAS A BIG SHOCKED. SHE DIDN'T GET WITH THE PROGRAM UNTIL ABOUT HALFWAY THROUGH THE PROGRAM. THIS WAS NOT EVA MARIA. THIS WAS NOT...

Mary says FEELINGS.

Sarah says IT WAS ALL OF THE TUNES SHE HAD CHOSEN, WERE NOT SHOWING UP. YOU KNOW, 1950 LOVE SONGS. I JUST, YOU KNOW...

Mary says WHAT COULD YOU DO IN A MOMENT LIKE THAT. DCHLD AND THE LAST MINUTE PLAN.

Yvette says I THINK THAT'S EXCELLENT, WHATEVER YOU CAN DO TO HELP MAKE IT SMIINGT. SOMETIMES PEOPLE THINK IT WAS PLANNED. THAT'S IDEAL.

Sarah says COMPARE THE TWO.

Mary says LET'S GO TO SOME CALLS. WE HAVE CALLERS ON THE LINE. VIVIAN IS ON THE LINE FROM MEDICINE HAT. HI.

The caller says HI.

Mary says THIS IS GREAT. I DON'T THINK I EVER HAD A CALL FROM MEDICINE HAT.

The caller says FABULOUS.

Mary says YEAH. TELL US, WHAT... DO YOU HAVE A WEDDING TO TALK ABOUT.

The caller says WHEN I GOT MARRIED IT WAS A WEDDING FROM HELL.

Mary says SORRY TO HEAR THAT.

The caller says WHEN WE WERE PLANNING OUR WEDDING, WE FOUND OUT A WEEK BEFORE WE GOT MARRIED THAT OUR CHURCH DOUBLE BOOKED. IT WAS CHRISTMAS TIME AND WE HAD TO FIND A NEW CHURCH AND FOR RECEPTION AND, YOU KNOW, DUE TO CHRIS KAS MATTERS, WELL, THERE WAS NOTHING EXCEPT ONE CHURCH LEFT. WE HAD TO BE OUT OF THERE BY 8 SO THAT MEANS NO, I ENLDED UP HAVING TO DOT DISHES AT MY OWN WEDDING.

Mary says OH, NO.

The caller says TURNED OUT OUR CAKE WAS NOT READY. IT HAD TO BE DECORATED AT THE RECEPTION HALL.

Mary says VIVIAN, DO YOU HAVE FAMILY, LIKE RELATIVES?

The caller says I DO.

Mary says AND LIKE, THEY WOULDN'T DO THE DISHES?

The caller says THEY WERE HELPING OUT BUT, HERE'S THE BRIDE AFTER HER WEDDING DOING HER OWN DISHES. MY DRESS, I HAD IT DONE IN CALGARY AND IT WAS NOT LIKE WHAT I ASKED FOR.

Mary says TELL ME THIS, WAS THERE ANYTHING GOOD THAT HAPPENED IN YOUR WED SNING

The caller says I GOT MARRYED.

Mary says THAT'S WHAT COUNTS, RIGHT.

The caller says MY MAID OF HONOR AND I TOLD HER THAT ON THE WAY TO THE WEDDING. I WENT BY MYSELF AND MY VAL WAS LONG AND GOT STUCK IN THE TREE AND NOBODY WOULD HELP ME TRY TO GET MY HEAD STUCK OUT OF A TREE. I PREFSLY HAD A MAID OF HONOR BEFORE THAT AND SHE KIND OF PULLED OUT ON ME AND DIDN'T TELL ME. I FOUND OUT THROUGH THE GRAPEVINE SHE WASN'T COMING TWO DAYS BEFORE MY WEDDING.

Mary says TELL ME THIS, WHEN IT WAS ALL OVER, RIGHT, DID YOU LAUGH OR DID YOU CRY?

The caller says WE SAID THE DAY AFTER THAT, WE'LL GET MARRIED AGAIN.

Yvette says I THINK MAYBE ON YOUR ANNIVERSARY TO TRY IT ONE MORE TIME AND HAVE SOME DIFFERENT CIRCUMSTANCES.

Mary says ARE YOU GOING TO?

The caller says WE WILL.

Mary says YES, SHE'S TEMENTING FATE AGAIN. GOOD LUCK. I HOPE EVERYTHING WORKS OUT THE NEXT TIME. NOW, OKAY. THAT, YOU TALK ABOUT LITTLE THINGS GOING WRONG.

The phone numbers and email reappear briefly.

Yvette says THAT'S UNBELIEVABLE THAT WOULD HAPPEN TO ONE PERSON. IT'S ALMOST LIKE A MADE FOR TRV MOVIE OR SOMETHING. IT'S RARE. I CERTAINLY, I MEAN, AS A WEDDING PLANNER, YOU CERTAINLY HOPE DON'T HAVE A LOT OF HORROR STORE ES, IT'S PART OF YOUR JOB TO MAKE SURE EVERYTHING GOES SMOINGTLY.

Mary says BUT SOME THINGS ARE OUT OF KROUR YOL. A MAID OF HONOR THAT KAENLSS, YOU CAN'T HELP THOSE THINGS FROM HAPPENING.

Yvette says YOU CAN ONLY TRY TO SMOOTH OUT THE WRINKLES AS MUCH AS YOU CAN. BUT I HAD A STORY, I WAS MENINGING TO YOUR PRODUCER ABOUT A GROOM WHO WAS NERVOUSLY IN THE GROOMS REAM WAITING FOR THE ZR MOAN TOW BEGIN AND A VERY SMALL ROOM. THIS LITTLE BOY WAS GOING TO BE THE BEST MAN AND THE RING BEARER AND ALL OF A SUDDEN STARTS TO PANIC. I CAN'T FIND KELLY'S RING, THE GIRL'S WRING. I DON'T KNOW WHERE IT IS.

Mary says HE'S LITTLE, RIGHT?

Yvette says NO, THIS IS THE GROOM.

Mary says THIS IS THE GROOM. I'M SORE.

Yvette says THE RING BEARER IS SIT TLING QUIETLY AND THE GROOM IS PANICKING. AND I SAID, LET'S CHECK YOUR POCKETS, WE CHECKED ALL OF THE POCKETS, LOOKED ON THE FLOOR AND NOTHING. LOOKED IN THE LITTLE BOY'S POCKET, HE DIDN'T HAVE IT EITHER. HE HAD PUT THE RING DOWN, HIS WRING BECAUSE HE WAS CARRYING BOTH. HE PUT HIS RING ON THE TABLE AND I PICKED IT UP AND I SAID, STEEFERN, TAKE A LOOK AND HER RING HAD GOT STUCK INTO HIS RING. AND I SAID, ISN'T THIS A GREAT STORY TO TELL TO YOUR BRIDE WHEN YOU FINALLY SEE HER THAT THE TWO RINGS WERE STUCK TOGETHER. HE WAS LIKE OH, MY GOD GOD, THANK GOODNESS. IT WAS SUCH A SWEET LITTLE STORY. HE WAS COMPLETELY RELIEVED, FERK, AFTER THAT. IT SEEMED LIKE... THE RING WAS THE THING, ALWAYS ONE THING THAT GOES WRONG AND DURING THE CEREMONY, THE LITTLE BOY COULDN'T REMEMBER WHAT POCKET HE HAD PUT THE RING IN, SO I'M USUALLY AT THE BACK OF THE CEREMONY AND TURNED AROUND. VIV, WRR THE RINGS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ZR MOAN SNEECHLT TOP POCKET. HE TOOK IT OUT AND GOT IT OR O HER FINGER WHICH WAS GREAT.

Mary says THOSE THINGS, TOO. THEY CAN ADD TO THE EVENT. IT'S FUNNY, IT LIGHT ENS THE MOOD. EVERYBODY FINDS IT VERY ADORABLE.

Yvette says ESPECIALLY WITH CHILDREN WHEN THEY START OF STOP. I TOOK A PICTURE ONCE, AND THIS IS A LITTLE GIRL THAT WAS IN A SHOT WITH THE BRIDE AND GROOM AND OUT DOORS AND SHE DIDN'T WANT TO MOVE AND THE PHOTOGRAPHER WANTED A SHOT OF THE COUPLE BUT SHE DIDN'T MIND, SHE TOOK IT ANYWAY SKPPLT THE LITTLE GIRL WAS LIKE, I'M NOT MOVING. I WANT TO BE IN THE PICTURE, TOO. SO, AND THAT WAS A PRICELESS PICTURE, YOU KNOW, THE LITTLE GIRL SORT OF VERY STUBBORN...

Mary says TURN TING AROUND INTO SOMETHING WONDERFUL. LET ME REMIND OUR VIEWERS, IN CASE YOU JUST TUNED IN, WE ARE TALKING ABOUT WEDDINGS. WE HAVE THREE EXPERTS IN, IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS AT ALL, PERHAPS YOU ARE PLANNING YOURS OR MAYBE IT IS DOWN THE ROAD AND JUST LIKE EARLY AES EOR EVEN IF YOU HAVE ANY HORROR WEDDING STORIES TO TELL, WE ARE SHARING THOSE TODAY. GIVE US A CALL TODAY WITH YOUR STORE ES SKPRX COMMENTS AND QUESTIONS AND THE THE NUMBER...

The phone numbers and email reappear briefly.

Mary says HI, HOW ARE SNU A BRIDE?

The caller says NO. NO. I AM A PHOTOGRAPHER. AND I TOOK PHOTOGRAPHY COURSES FROM THE PHOTOGRAPHER. DO YOU FIND THAT YOUR FRIENDS ASK YOU TO BE THEIR PHOTOGRAPHER AND WANT YOU TO WORK FOR FREE?

Catherine says THEY USED TO. WELL, THEY NEVER ASK THAT I WORK FOR FREE BUT IT'S A VERY, YEAH, I KNOW IT GETS ASKED A LOT OF PEOPLE. IT'S REALLY IMPORTANT THAT YOU DON'T GO INTO A SITUATION WHERE YOU ARE NOT FEELING COMFORTABLE WITH THE WAY IT HAS BEEN DEALT WITH BECAUSE YOU HAVE TO HAVE EVERYTHING SET OUT BEFORE. DON'T DO IT FOR FREE BECAUSE IT JUST... THE KEY IS THAT YOU KEEP IT PROFESSIONAL. I KNOW YOU ARE A FRIEND AND YOU WANT TO HELP THEM OUT, DEFINITELY GIVE THEM DISCOUNTS AND THINGS LIKE THAT, YOU KNOW, YOU CAN HELP THEM OUT, STAY A COUPLE OF EXTRA HOURS, YOU KNOW, OVERTIME, BUT... BUT YOU HAVE TO KEEP A BIT OF A PROFESSIONAL LEVEL SO THEY TRUST YOU AND THAT THEY KNOW THEY'RE GOING TO GET GOOD SHOTS. IT JUST GETS TOO GRAY AND THEY MIGHT DEMAND A LITTLE MORE THAN WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR THEM.

Mary says SO IS THE MONEY, IN RESPONSE TO YOUR ANTICIPATING PROBLEMS, THIS IS TO AVOID PROBLEMS WHY YOU PUT MONEY?

Catherine says OR EVEN, OR DON'T DO IT. LIKE BECAUSE, IT'S PROBABLY BEST THAT IF YOU ARE A CLOSE FRIEND, THAT YOU DON'T ACTUALLY DO IT. BECAUSE, IT COULD RUIN THE FRIENDSHIP.

Mary says WOULD THAT WORK THE SAME WITH YOU, HAVING FRIENDS, WOULD YOU PLAN MY WEDDING FOR FREE?

Yvette says YOU KNOW WHAT? THERE'S SO MUCH WORK INVOLVED AND THERE'S SO MUCH TIME UNLESS IT WAS MY 18 YEAR OLD COUSIN DOWN THE ROAD, I WOULD ABSOLUTELY DO IT FOR HER FOR FREE, BUT THERE IS A FINE LINE BECAUSE THERE'S SO MUCH BORK PUT IN AND I'M HAPPY TO PROVIDE ADVICE BUT WHEN YOU ARE THERE ON THAT DAY, YOU ARE WORKING. YOU ARE NOT HAVING FUN. IF I'M A GUEST AT AN EVENT THEN, IT IS NOT REALLY RIGHT FOR ME TO BE IN CHARGE OF THE EVENT ON THAT DAY. SO, IT'S TRICKY. I FIND THAT, YOU KNOW, AUFERN RELATIVES DEMAND MORE OF YOU AND THEY DON'T REALIZE IT IS STILL YOUR TIME AND MONEY. I ALMOST WOULD SAY, PUT IN A FEW EXTRAS, GIVE THEM A FEW MORE EXTRA SHOTS BUT DON'T DO IT FOR NOTHING OR RECOMMEND SOMEONE ELSE AND MAYBE BE JUST THERE TO OVERSEE AND HELP THE OTHER PHOTOGRAPHER. BUT THIS WAY, YOU KNOW, THE RELATIONSHIP IS WITH NOT A RELATIVE, SO IF YOU DON'T LIKE THE PICTURES, SOMETHING DOESN'T GO RIGHT, YOU DON'T HAVE THAT CONFLICT GOING ON FERMENT

Sarah says I AM LISTENING TO THIS, TOO. I HAVE HAD PEOPLE BE SURPRISED A MINISTER WOULD CHARGE FOR A WEDDING. GUESS WHAT. GOD DOESN'T PAY MY RENT OR MORTGAGE OR GROCERY BILL. SOMETIMES WHEN I WORK WITH PEOPLE WITH VERY LITTLE MONEY AND A PARTICULAR THING STANDS OUT, THEY WERE CUBAN REFUGEES, THEY HAVE VERY LITTLE MONEY, VERY LITTLE RESOURCES AND WHAT WEENED UP WORKING OUT WAS A BARTER SYSTEM. I ENDED UP BEING THE LUCKY RECIPIENT OF A SERIES OF SALSA LESSONS IN EXCHANGE. SO THIS MINISTER IS PRETTY TERRIFIC ON THE DANCE FLOOR. AND THEY... YES. AND THEY ENDED UP WITH A VERY BEAUTIFUL MEANINGFUL ENGLISH HISPANIC WEDDING THAT I PERFORMED FOR THEM KP WE WERE BOTH HAPPY. BUT, NO, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, MINISTERS DON'T WORK FOR FREE AND AT A CHURCH, YOU ARE GOING TO BE PAYING SOMEONE OR THE CHURCH.

Mary says RIGHT. WHAT ABOUT THE WHOLE ASPECT OF THESE MULTI FAITH WEDDINGS? HOW COMMON ARE THEY? WHAT PERCENTAGE OF YOUR CEREMONY WHAT THEY MAKE UP?

Sarah says VERY. RIGHT OFF OF THE BAT, I AM NONDENOMINATIONAL SO IF A PRIEST HAS ALREADY SAID NO AND A RABBI HAS ALREADY SAID NO, THEY'RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE TO SAY YES AND I'M THE PERSON THAT WILL SAY YES. SO, IN MY WORLD RIGHT NOW, IT'S ABOUT 40 PERCENT.

Mary says REALLY? 40 PERCENT. WHAT ABOUT THE... SO WHAT ABOUT THE OTHER CHALLENGES THAT YOU SEE, I MEAN THAT THOSE PRESENT, THOSE WEDDINGS.

Sarah says WELL, NOT A VERY PRETTY TOPIC BUT IT'S CALLED PREJUDICE AND IT'S CALLED BIASS. AND, YOU KNOW, MOTHERS ARE CRYING THEIR EYES OUT THAT THEIR, YOU KNOW, JEWISH SON IS MARRYING AN ATHEIST FRENCH-CANADIANS. OR YOU CAN COME UP WITH ANY STORY. AND IT TAKES THEM USUALLY A VERY LONG TIME TO GET OVER THAT. SOMETIMES I EVEN DO COUNSELING WITH THE PARENTS, YOU KNOW, AS IT GETS CLOSER TO THE WEDDING DAY, THE COUPLE WILL PHONE ME UP, OOER EITHER GOING TO ALOP TO JAMAICA OR YOU NEED TO HELP US BECAUSE WE DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH THIS, THIS, THIS ISSUE. SO WE TALK USUALLY ABOUT THAT AND THEN EVENTUALLY IT IS SOMETIMES POINTS TO THE PARENTS, I KNOW THIS IS NOT THE PRETTY SIDE OF GETTING MARRIED BUT IT IS THE REAL IFTIC SIDE OF GETTING MARRIED. AND IN THIS CASE, I NEED TO HAVE A LONG TALK WITH THE FAMILY.

Mary says YEAH, LET'S TAKE ANOTHER CALL HERE. WE HAVE A CALL FROM PA LA IN STRIKERVILLE, I BELIEVE IN NEW YORK STATE. ARE YOU CALLING FROM NEW YORK? HI. WELCOME TO THE SHOW.

The caller says HI.

Mary says GO AHEAD.

The caller says I HAVE A TERRIBLE STORE THAT HAPPENED AT MY WEDDING. IT WAS THE MOTHER-IN-LAW AGAIN.

Mary says OH, DEAR. OKAY.

The caller says MY MOTHER-IN-LAW, MY HUSBAND FATHER PASSED AWAY AND SHE PROMISED HIM HIS WHOLE LIFE HE WOULD HAVE HIS RING, SO WE, SHE SAID SHE WAS GOING TO GIVE IT TO US BUT AT THE LAST MINUTE SHE CHANGED HER MIND. WE HAD TO GO BUY A WEDDING RING FOR MY HUSBAND THE DAY BEFORE THE WEDDING. AND THEN SHE DID SHOW UP AT THE WEDDING, SHE CRIED THROUGH THE WHOLE WEDDING. AND THEN SHE WAS WAITING FOR THE PASTOR TO SAY IF ANYBODY HAS ANYTHING TO SAY, SAY IT NOW OR FOREVER HOLD YOUR PEACE. WE HAD THAT TAKEN OUT. SHE DID TELL ME SHE WAS GOING TO STAND UP AND SAY SOMETHING.

Mary says I'M SORE, SHE LEFT AT THAT POINT.

The caller says NO, SHE CRIED THROUGH THE WHOLE SERVICE.

Mary says SO SHE WAS NOT ABLE TO SAY ANYTHING AT THAT POINT.

The caller says SHE WANTED TO SAY SOMETHING BUT WE HAD THAT TAKEN OUT.

Mary says OH, YOU TOOK IT RIGHT OUT OF THE SERVICE.

The caller says WE KNEW SHE WAS GOING SAY SOMETHING. LATER SHE SAID SHE WAS GOING TO STAY SOMETHING. THERE IS A COME, TOOK MY WEDDING RING AND SO I HAD TO GET MARRIED WITH MY AUNT A RING. I DIDN'T EVEN HAVE MY WEDDING RING. LATER WE FOUND IT, THANK GOD.

Mary says OH, MY GOODNESS.

The caller says WE DIDN'T HAVE EITHER ONE OF OUR ORIGINAL RINGS.

Mary says I HAVE TO ASK YOU, WHAT DO YOU THINK KEPT YOU GOING THROUGH THAT WHOLE CEREMONY. WHAT WAS IT THAT KEPT YOU GOING?

The caller says THE LOVE FOR MY HUSBAND. WE LOVED EACH OTHER SO MUCH, WE HAD BOTH BEEN THROUGH A LOT. AND THE LOVE.

Mary says WELL, THANK YOU SO MUCH.

The caller says THANK YOU.

Mary says YEAH, THANKS A LOT. WHAT DO YOU THINK WHEN YOU HEAR, A CALL LIKE THAT?

Yvette says YOU KNOW, I MEAN, SOME PEOPLE JUST HAVE REALLY BAD LUCK. BUT AT THE END OF THE DAY, I SAY TO THEM, NO MATTER WHAT GOES WRONG, AS LONG AS YOU FEEL YOU ARE STANDING NEXT TO THE RIGHT PERSON, THAT'S WHAT REALLY COUNTS, WE ARE SPEAKING ABOUT THIS, TOO, BEFORE SOMETIMES YOU WILL MEET A COUPLE AND IT IS NOT REALLY MY PLACE TO DISSUADE THEM FROM GETTING MARRIED ALTHOUGH...

Sarah says IT IS MINE.

Yvette says AND WHO CALL, YOU KNOW, THREE WEEKS BEFORE THE WEDDING IS OFF, TWO WEEKS BEFORE IT IS ON. OFF AGAIN AND OFF AGAIN AND YOU KNOW THIS IS NOT A MARRIAGE THAT'S GOING TO REALLY LAST. AND THE STATISTICS ARE STILL PRETTY HIGH UNFORTUNATELY THAT, I THINK IN CANADA, ABOUT 40 PERCENT END UP IN DIVORCE.

Mary says SARA, YOU SAID SOMETHING INTERESTING THERE. YOUR JOB TO DISSUADE, IF NEED BE. HOW OFTEN DOES THAT HAPPEN?

Sarah says NOT VERY AUFERN, BUT I GOT TO DO THE RIGHT THING. AND THE RIGHT THING MAY BE TO VERY SENSITIVELY SOMETIMES SUBTLY AND SOMETIMES BLATANTLY START TO ADDRESS WITH THE COUPLE, WELL, WHY ARE YOU GETTING MERE MARRIED?

Yvette says IS IT SOMETHING YOU CAN SENSE EARLY ON?

Sarah says YES. YES. AND WITH EXPERIENCE, IT BECOMES EASIER AND EASIER, EASIER. TO SPOT, YOU KNOW, MAYBE AFTER MY FIRST 500 WEDDINGS I WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN SO FAST ON THE DRAW, BUT I'M NOW FAST ON THE DRAW. I DON'T WANT TO SEE PEOPLE GET HURT AND I THINK DIVORCE IS SCARRING TO PEOPLE. IT IS NOT MEANT TO BE IF IT IS A WEDING THAT'S NOT GOING TO BE IN HEAVEN. IT'S GOING TO HAVE A LITTLE TOUCH OF HELL, THEN WHY NOT TALK ABOUT IT NOW AND SEE IF THERE MOTIVES FOR GETTING... I AM SORRY TO SAY THAT A LOT OF YOUNG WOMEN ARE MORE IN LOVE WITH THE WEDING AND THE WEDDING DAY THAN THEY ARE, IN FACT, THE GUY.

Yvette says IT IS EAR MO ABOUT THE PARTY THAN WHAT HAPPENS FOR ALL OF THE DAYS EVER AND ONCE IT IS OVER.

Yvette says AND THEN, YEAH SKPRX THEN POST WEDDING DAY. YEAH. YEAH, RIGHT. YOU KNOW, I WANT TO ASK YOU, PHOTOGRAPHY, DO YOU EVER TAKE PHOTO AND THEN LATER ON, YOU KNOW, THEY ARE DEVELOPED, THINGS TURN OUT, THINGS TURN UP ON THEM THAT YOU NEVER EXPECTED, DOES THAT EVER HAPPEN? ARE THERE EVER ANY SURPRISES IN YOUR PHOTOGRAPHS?

Catherine says THERE HAVE BEEN SOME WONDERFUL SURPRISES WHERE, I'LL BE SHOOTING THE DANCING OR SAY, A SPECIAL DANCE LIKE A DANCE IN A JEWISH WEDDING WHERE, AND IT IS FOR THE PARENTS. AND THE PARENTS, IT'S THIS ONE PHOTO WHERE THE PARENTS ARE SITTING DOWN AND EVERYBODY DANCES AROUND THEM AND WHAT HAPPENS HAPPENED IN THIS ONE PHOTO IS I MANAGED TO GET, WITHOUT REALLY KNOWING THE BRIDE, THE GROOM, THEIR SON AND THEIR OTHER SON AND THEIR TWO DAUGHTER IN LAWS IN THIS EXACT SAME PHOTO AND THAT'S WHAT THAT DANCE IS ABOUT. IT'S ABOUT THAT, YOU KNOW, YOUR LAST CHILD HAS JUST GOTTEN MARRIED. SO IN THIS PHOTO DANTSING AROUND THEM ALL OF THESE PEOPLE THAT WERE VERY, THE MOST IMPORTANT PEOPLE.

Mary says BECAUSE, YOU ARE WAITING FOR THE MOMENT, THE MOMENT IS FLEETING. THAT'S WHY I WONDERED, IF YOU... OH, MY GOODNESS. LOOK AT WHAT I CAPTURED.

Catherine says ALSO, TOO, SOMETIMES THE BRIDE AND GROOM WILL LOOK AT THE PHOTO AND THEY'LL SEE, OH, MY GOSH AND THAT'S MY UFERNING SKPEL THAT'S MY AUNT AND THAT'S MY... I DON'T KNOW WHO NECESSARILY WHO THOSE PEOPLE ARE AT THAT APPOINTMENT BUT THEY'RE THRILLED BECAUSE I HAVE MANAGED ALL OF THE IMPORTANT PEOPLE IN THAT PHOTO. AND FOR ME, THAT'S JUST...

Mary says I HAVE TO TELL YOU A FUNNY. STORY. AT THIS WEDDING. AND THROWING THE BOUQUET, ALL OF THE WOMEN, THEY ARE LINED UP AND THIS ONE WOMAN TAKES A HUGE JUMP AND SHE CATCHES THE BOUQUET. DO YOU KNOW WHAT I'M GOING TO SAY. LET ME FINISH SAYING IT. SO THEN THE PHOTOGRAPHER COMES WITH THE PROOFS AND HE SAID, YOU KNOW, WHAT, I HELD ONE BACK BUT I'M GOING TO SHOW TU AND TAKE I LOOK AND YOU SEE THAT THAT WOMAN HAS JUMPED UP, SHE WAS WEARING THIS VERY LIGHT CHIIF, FON DRESS THAT HAPPENED TO COME UPRIGHT TO HER WAIST. SHE'S GOT NO UNDERPANTS ON.

Sarah says DID SHE WANT THAT BOUQUET.

Catherine says YEAH, IT'S AMAZING WHAT HAPPENS. AND IT'S THE OTHER WAY WHEN THEY THROW THEIR ARMS UP AND THE DRESS COMES DOWN.

Mary says SO LET'S GO TO ANOTHER CALL HERE. JOSH ON THE LINE FROM TORONTO. EVER HAD THAT HAPPENED IT'S HOPPING, ALL RIGHT.

The caller says OKAY ACCIDENT NO PROBLEM SFOOCHLT.

Mary says GO AHEAD.

The caller says HI THERE. I'M IN THE STUDIO BUSINESS, I HAVE BEEN IN IT ABOUT 24 YEARS AND SEEN JUST ABOUT ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING. I WOULD LIKE TO SAY HI TO YVETTE. IF SHE REMEMBERS ME.

Yvette says JOSH, HI.

The caller says I HAVE SEEN THAT. I HAVE A VERY GOOD VIDEO OF THAT PARTICULAR ONE.

Mary says OH, DEAR.

The caller says REALLY FUNNY STORIES. THINGS OF I HAVE SEEN. IN ONE CASE AS A PHOTOGRAPHER, BUMPS INTEREST A CAKE TABLE AND THE CAKE WAS ENORMOUS, A MULTI LAYER TYPE CAKE AND THE CAKE BEGAN COLLAPSING. THE MOTHER OF THE BRIDE MAKES A QUICK DASH TO TRY TO SAVE THE CAKE AND IT COLLAPSE OS HER CHEST.

Mary says OH, NO.

The caller says WHAT A MESS. ANOTHER ONE, THE MIDDLE OF THE ZR MOAN, THE BEST MAN COLLAPSES. HE'S NERVOUS. TWO MINUTES LATER, THE GROOM COLLAPSES AS WELL.

Mary says IT WAS THE PRESSURE, TOO MUCH FOR THEM. MY GOODNESS.

The caller says ANOTHER CASE THIS WAS IN CAM BRIDGE, I WAS DOING A LARGE WEDDING IN A TENT AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE SKIES OPENED UP AND THE THUNDER STORM, RAIN, WIND, THE WHOLE THING, ONE SIDE OF THE TENT COMPLETELY COLLAPSES AND DRENCHING THE BAND, THE WHOLE DANCE FLOOR WAS A MESS. WE HAD TO CONCLUDE THINGS PRETTY FAST.

Mary says THIS IS THE LEAGUE OF HOLLYWOOD-LIKE DISASTER MOVIEYS. HAS ANYTHING REMOTELY HAPPENED TO YOU LIKE THAT?

Sarah says I THINK A WLOT OF THOSE THINGS CAN BE FACTORED FOR AND PLANNED AHEAD TO NOT HAPPEN.

Mary says GOOD POINT. GOOD POINT. I NEVER DID ASK YOU THAT. WEDDING PLANNER, RIGHT. SO WHO USES WEDDING PLANNERS, WHO NEEDS A WEDDING PLANNER?

Yvette says WELL, EVERYBODY. EVERYBODY I THINK. IF YOU CANNOT AFFORD A WEDDING PLANNER, I SAY TRY TO GET FAMILY OR SOMEONE ELSE TO HELP YOU BECAUSE AS THE BRIDE, THAT POOR GIRL, WASHING DISHS AND DOING ALL OF THAT AND RUNNING AROUND. IF SHE HAD SOMEBODY HELPING HER, AT LEAST THAT PERSON COULD BE MAKING CALLS FOR HER. HOW CAN YOU ENJOY THE DAY WHEN YOU ARE WORRYING ABOUT ALL OF THE DETAILS, YOU WANT TO JUST RELAX AND KNOW THAT EVERYTHING HAS BEEN TAKEN CARE OF. HAVE SOMEBODY ON YOUR SIDE SO I THINK IT'S IMPORTANT.

Mary says ROUGHLY, HOW MUCH DOES IT COST.

Yvette says IT CAN COST FROM FROM 850 TO 2500, SOME WHERE IN THERE. THE NUMBER OF HOURS, DAYS, WE SPEND TOGETHER, THE LEVEL OF DETAIL THAT'S INVOLVED, IF THERE'S MORE THAN ONE LOCATION, IF IT'S OUT OF TOWN. AND SOME, BUT YOU CAN HAVE A SMALL WEDDING VERY LABOR INTENSE SKPIF A BIG ONE RELATIVELY SIMPLE.

Mary says DEPENDENT ON THE WORK INVOLVED FOR YOU.

Yvette says THE AMOUNT OF THE WORK, YES AND ALSO THE MONTHS LEADING UP TO IT, IF TWO YEARS PLANNING THREE MONTHS IN ADVANCE, YOU KNOW, THAT HAS TO DO WITH IT.

Mary says WHATATE LONGEST LEAD TIME YOU HAVE HAD?

Yvette says I HAVE HAD ALMOST TWO YEARS,

Mary says WHAT'S THE SHORTEST LEAD TIME?

Yvette says TWO WEEKS. YOU KNOW, FINALLY WE'RE ALMOST OUT OF TIME. ANY QUICK TIPS ON GETTING PHOTOGRAPHERS FOR MEEM OUT THERE, JUST TAKING PHOTOGRAPHERS.

Catherine says AS IN THE GUESTS?

Mary says YEAH RJTS JUST REALLY MAYBE EASY. MI TAKES TO AVOID.

Catherine says ONE THING YOU HAVE TO DO, REMEMBER DURING THE CEREMONY THAT A REALLY IMPORTANT MOMENT AND IF YOU CAN REFRAIN FROM BEING INTRUSIVE IN THE CEREMONY, THAT'S VERY, VERY IMPORTANT.

Mary says RIGHT.

Catherine says A LOT OF TIMES A MINISTER WILL MENTION THAT THEY WILL SO SAY PHOTOGRAPHS, I WILL LEAVE TIME FOR PHOTOGRAPH. BUT THAT'S REALLY IMPORTANT. ANOTHER THING IS, AS A PHOTOGRAPHER, I ALWAYS GET THE LINE UP OF THE GUEST BEHIND ME TAKING THE SAME PHOTO WHICH, I AM FINE WITH, IT'S PEOPLE JUST HAVE TO REMEMBER THAT I NEED TO GET THE PHOTO FIRST AND I WILL STEP OVER, STEP AWAY AND SO, EVERYBODY NOW ELSE. JUST REMEMBER THE PHOTOGRAPHER IS REALLY TRYING TO GET SOME CERTAIN MOMENTS AND JUST TRY TO STICK IT OUT BUT ENJOY IT. IT'S EXCITING.

Mary says ONE LAST LINE FOR YOU, FOR COUPLES OUT THERE GETTING MARRIED.

Sarah says PICK THE RIGHT PERSON. THESE HORRIFIC STORES HAVE NOT HAPPENED TO US BUT HAPPENED TO SOME OF THE PHONE IN PEOPLE, AT LEAST GREAT LAUGHS WHEN YOU ARE HAVING THE 10TH ANNIVERSER AND THINKING ABOUT YOUR WEDDING DAY, MAKE SURE IT'S THE RIGHT GUY, THE RIGHT WOMAN.

Mary says THANKS SO MUCH FOR ALL OF THE GREAT ADVICE. THANKS FOR COMING IN. A WEDDING PLANNER, A NONDENOM NAINGAL MINISTER AND A WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER. NOW TO REACH them...

A slate reads "Yvette Shier. www.eventtips.com/yvette_shier. Reverend Sarah Bunnett-Gibson, www.weddingsheart.com, 416-967-9322. Catherine Lash, www.theweddingco.ca."

Mary says GETTING MARRIED SAY BIG STEP FOR ANY COUPLE, BUT WHEN THAT UNION INVOLVES BLENDING TWO FAMILIES, THE EVENT TAKES ON A WHOLE NEW MEANING AND STRESS LEVEL. ELAINE AND HER CHILDREN WERE A WEEK AWAY FROM THEIR BIG DAY WHEN THEY BEGAN THIS PLANET PARENT VIDEO DIARY. TAKE A LOOK.

A clip plays with the caption "Video Diary."

A family comprised of a man, a woman, a girl and a boy, steps outside of a house. The man sets a camera on a table to take a family picture.

He says OKAY. OKAY.

A caption reads "Andrew Carberry. Dad, Groom."

Andrew is in his forties, clean-shaven, with short, receding brown hair.

The caption changes to "Elaine Ellison. Mom, Bride."

Elaine is in her thirties, with long straight blond hair.

The caption changes to "Jade. 11 years old."

Jade has brown hair and bangs.

The caption changes to "Ben. 9 ears old."

Ben has short blond hair.

Elaine and Andrew sit inside a living room.

She says WHEN WE TOLD BEN THAT WE WERE GETTING MARRIED, HE BROKE DOWN AND CRIED AT THE KITCHEN TABLE. THEN HE CRIED ALL NIGHT AND CRIED HIMSELF TO SLEEP. AND ANDREW WAS, LIKE, OH.

Andrew says IT WAS HIS SCHOOL. THAT WAS THE THING. HE HAD TO GIVE UP HIS SCHOOL AND HIS FRIENDS.

Elaine says IT WAS DIFFICULT FOR ANDREW BECAUSE IT MADE HIM FEEL BAD, UPROOTING BEN. THOUGHT IT WOULD WORK OUT JUST FINE. HE'S GOT A GREAT NEW LIFE AHEAD OF HIM.

As Andrew leads Ben into a room, he says YOUR NEW ROOM, BEN.

Ben turns on the lights and says WOW. IT'S REALLY BIG.

Andrew says YOUR BED. WE WON'T BE ABLE TO FIND YOU IN THE MORNING.

Elaine says IT WAS IMPORTANT FOR BOTH OF US TO HAVE BEN AND JADE IN THE WEDDING PARTY. WE EACH WANTED FRIENDS BUT THE CHILDREN HAD TO BE PART OF THE WEDDING FROM START TO FINISH.

Jade says I WASN'T EP SET. IT WAS KIND OF SHOCKING THOUGH, NOT REALLY LIKE... I LIKE ELAINE AND I LIKE BEN AND I WAS HAPPY BUT IT WAS JUST... DIFFERENT. I'M GETTING MARRIED INSTEAD OF LIKE, INSTEAD OF IT'S BEEN ME AND MY DAD FOR SEARCH YEARS.

Andrew says THEY WERE OUT SHOPPING A MONTH BEFORE THE WEDDING FOR ODDS AND ENDS. WHITE BETTER THAN CREAM? YEAH.

In a clip captioned "4 days before wedding" Elaine examines a dress as she says YOU LIKE WHITE BETTER THAN CREAM.

Andrew says SHE HAD MORE INVOLVE. IN THE WEDDING WITH THE DRESS AND THE MAKE UP AND THE HAIR DO.

Jade says WE WENT DOWN TO ANGELICA. THE LADY MAKING MY DRESS. WHEN ITS TIME FOR THE TO GO FOR THE FINAL FITTING. SHE SAID SHE DIDN'T HAVE THE MATERIAL OR ANYTHING YET. SO SHE HAD JUST MADE THE TOP AND THE LINING FOR THE SKIRT SO ELAINE WAS WORRIED ABOUT THAT. I WAS WORRIED TOO BUT ELAINE WAS PROBABLY MORE WORRIED BECAUSE SHE WAS THE BRIDE AND WANTED ME TO HAVE A DRESS.

Angelica says SO YOU TLIK.

Jade says YEAH.

Elaine says I WANTED HER TO BE INVOLVED AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. AND THEN I... WHEN SHE FOUND OUT SHE WAS GOING TO HAVE WALK DOWN THE AISLE FIRST. I'M I'M FIRST, I'M NOT GOING FIRST.

Andrew says JADE'S ALWAYS BEEN JUST USED TO ME AND HER WHEN IT WAS JUST HER AND I. I THINK SHE REALLY ENJOYS HAVING ELAINE AND BEN HERE LIKE THE MORE OF A FAMILY THING THAN JUST HER AND DAD.

Ben says GET TO COME HOME AND ANNOY YOUR HALF SISTER.

In a clip captioned "2 days before wedding" Jade laughs and hugs Ben as she jokingly says DON'T LEAVE ME, BEN.

Elaine says BEN'S VERY PROTECTIVE OF ME.

Andrew says HE GAVE ME A LIST OF THINGS I HAD TO DO. THE MARRIAGE LIST. THEY ALL CONCERNED ABOUT HIS MOM.

Elaine says JADE'S PROTECTIVE OF YOU THOUGH, TOO.

Andrew says YEAH.

Elaine says SHE REALLY MISS HER LITTLE ROUTINE SHE HAD WITH HER DAD. SHE ALWAYS WENT UPSTAIRS AND FELL ASLEEP IN HIS BED AND SOMETIMES HE WOULD CARRY HER OVER SKPPLT THEN SHE SLEPT THE WHOLE NIGHT IN HER ROOM, SHE GOT FIVE BUCKS, SO SHE WAS TELLING US ABOUT THAT STORY. SHE SAYS NOW THAT ELAINE'S THERE, I CAN'T DO THAT.

In a clip captioned "1 day before wedding" Andrew and Elaine examine a ring at a jewelry shop.

Ben says A GOOD DAD BECAUSE HE LETS YOU STAY UP REALLY LATE AND YOU GET TO BUG HIM. THAT'S PRETTY MUCH IT.

Elaine says IT'S A BETTER FOUNDATION FOR THE CHILDREN TO BE MARRIED.

Andrew says THEY BOTH WANTED A WEDDING. I DON'T THINK THE KIDS WOULD HAVE BEEN HAPPY IF WE WERE JUST LIVING TOGETHER.

In a clip captioned "The big day" Elaine says TOO BUSY THIS WEEK TO BE NERVOUS. I THINK I AM GETTING NERVOUS.

Elaine says ARE YOU READY FOR TODAY JADE AND BEN?

Ben says NO.

Jade says IF WE HAVE TO BE.

Elaine says IF WE HAVE TO BE?

Ben says YEAH. WE HAVEN'T BE LEAVING TOBT?

Elaine says YOU DON'T WANT TO LEAVE TONIGHT, YOU WANT TO STAY OVER.

Ben says WATCH YOU ON YOUR HONEYMOON.

Elaine says OH, BEN.

Jade says IN THE MORNING, BEN AND I SWAM THE WHOLE MORNING. AND THEN AROUND CHREE O'CLOCK ACCIDENT I GOT MY HAIR DONE. HALF UP AND HALF DOWN IN CURLS.

As a woman combs her hair, Jade says I GET TO WALK DOWN THE AISLE FIRST.

Jade says THEN, EVERYONE STARTED SHOWING UP AND BEN AND I WERE RUNNING UPSTAIRS REALLY NOR VOUS.

As clips show two women helping Elaine walk down a street in a wedding dress, Elaine narrates WITH ANDREW'S INFLUENCE BEN WILL HAVE MORE OF A ROUNDED FAMILY LIFE THAN WHAT HE'S BEEN EXPERIENCING. IT'S GOOD THAT BOTH CHILDREN ARE AT THE AGE THEY ARE RIGHT NOW BECAUSE I THINK A LITTLE BIT POLDER FROM NOW IT COULD BE HARDER FOR THEM TO ACCEPT GOING INTO A BLENDED FAMILY, THAT WAS A BIG CONCERN.

Jade says WELL, EVERYONE WAS SEATED AND THEN IT WAS OUR TURN TO GO DOWN THE AISLE FIRST. I WAS REALLY SCARED BUT I JUST WALKED DOWN THE AISLE AND DIDN'T PAY ATTENTION TO ANYONE.

As clips show her walking down the aisle, then snippets of the actual ceremony, Elaine says CAN'T HAVE ANYTHING PRETTIER THAN TO COME AROUND THE CORNER IN YOUR WEDDING DRESS AND YOU LOOK OUT AT THE GUEST ANDS HAVE BEEN ENJOYING THE STRING QAR FET TET AND IT WAS A BEAUTIFUL DAY. IT WAS A BIG STEP FOR US TO MOVE OUT OF OUR HOUSE AND CUT THE SECURITY THAT I HAD BUILT FOR THE LAST FIVE OR SIX YEARS. I TRUST ANDREW AND HE'S REALLY WORKED HARD AT PUTTING THINGS TOGETHER FOR US UP HERE.

Andrew says IT'S WORTH IT.

The clip ends.

Back in the studio, Mary says WONDERFUL. WELL JUST ABOUT EVERYONE SAW THAT CULT HIT MOVIE OF LAST SISTER, MY BIG FAT GREEK WEDDING. A TALE TO WARM PEOPLE'S HEART, THE CINDERELLA STORE OF A BRIDE, A GROOM, A BIG ETHNIC FAMILY AND THE MARRIAGE OF TWO CULTURES THIS IS VERY MUCH A REALITY IN CANADA WHERE PEOPLE ARE INCREASINGLY MARRYING ACROSS RACIAL ETHNIC AND RELIGIOUS LINES. JOINING ME TODAY ARE THREE BRIDES, WHO REFLECT WHAT IT MEANS TO MARRY IN ONTARIO TODAY. A FILL FEIGN OWE HERITAGE, HER GROOM, JOEL, IS OF JERL AN-CANADIAN DESCENT. A CANADIAN THAT MARRIED JUS SHARING HER ETHNIC BACKGROUND AND RELIJ SKBRON ETHY HER HUSBAND LOU HAD A BIG FAT GREEK AND ITALIAN WEDDING. WE'RE GOING TO TALK ABOUT THOSE TODAY.

Rodelyn is in her twenties, with long straight dark hair. She's wearing a bright green patterned shirt.
Punam is in her early thirties, with chin-length wavy brown hair. She's wearing a lavender blouse over a black shirt.
Effie is in her thirties, with long wavy blond hair. She's wearing a red sweater and a silver necklace.

Mary continues WELCOME TO ALL OF THE BRIDES HERE. THANKS FOR COMING. JUST GO AROUND THE TABLE AND ASK, HOW IMPORTANT WAS IT TO EACH OF YOU TO FOLLOW SOME OR ALL OF THE ETHNIC TRADITIONS OF YOUR BACKGROUND.

The caption changes to "Rodelyn Wisco. Nondenominational wedding."

Rodelyn says IT WAS VERY IMPORTANT TO MAKE SURE THAT WE FOLLOWED TRADITIONS THAT HAD MEANS FOR US, THAT WE RELATED TO AND THAT SOMEHOW REFLECTED OUR PERSONAL VALUES AND BELIEFS.

Mary says SEE, SO WHAT DOES THAT MEAN, YOU ARE OF FILIPINO BACKGROUND. YOUR HUSBAND IS GERMAN CANADIAN. SO, DID YOU LOOK FOR TRADITIONS IN EACH OF THE BACKGROUNDS THAT WOULD SHARE THE COMMON VALUES YOU HAD? IT DID IT WORK?

Rodelyn says WE LOOKED FOR TRADITIONS, AGAIN, THAT REFLECTED OUR VALUES OF RI SUSPECT AND ACCEPTANCE AND SELF DETERMINATION. SO WE CHOSE A LOT TO MAKE SURE THAT THEY MEANT SOMETHING TO US AND WE EXCLUDED SOME THAT DIDN'T REFLECT HOW WE WANTED TO LIVE OUR LIVES.

Mary says IT WAS A MIX OF CULTURES THEN?

Rodelyn says YES.

Mary says THE CEREMONY WAS A MIX? WHAT ABOUT YOU? HOW IMPORTANT WAS THE TRADITION TO YOU?

The caption changes to "Effie Altomare. Greek-Italian wedding."

Effie says IT WAS VERY IMPORTANT. IT WAS NOT THE MOST IMPORTANT THING WHEN IT CAME TO PLANNING OUR WEDDING. WE WANTED TO INCORPORATE SOME OF OUR GREEK TRADITIONS FOR FAMILY, MY FAMILY AND SOME OF THE ITALIAN TRA DIGS FOR MY HUSBAND'S FAMILY BUT THE TRADITIONS WE GREW UP, AS GROWING UP IN CANADA AND BEING CANADIANS, SO THE TRA DIG AS WE HAVE SEEN ON TRV AND THE BOW KAY AND THE GART SKPERT WHITE DRESS AND THE BRIDAL PARTY.

Mary says I AM JUST CURIOUS. FOR PEOPLE THAT DON'T KNOW ABOUT THE TWO CULT URS, THEY MAY ALMOST LUMP THEM IN AS BEING SIMILAR. HOW DIFFERENT ARE THE TRADITIONS? VARIED?

Effie says WELL, IT DEPENDS, I FIND THAT THE GREEK CULTURE VERY MUCH ROOTED INTO THE GREEK ROOTS FERMENT AND EVERYTHING ABOUT BEING GREEK, A LOT HAS TO DO WITH YOUR TRADITIONS AND YOUR CULTURE AND BACKGROUNDS AND ITAL YANS ARE A LITTLE BIT MORE CANADIANIZED AT SOME POINT AND THEY TEND TO BLEND IN A LOT EASIER WITH THE CANADIAN CULTURE SO IT WAS EASIER WITH THE ITALIAN SIDE BECAUSE THEY WERE A LITTLE MORE FLEXIBLE.

Mary says OOH. I THINK I AM HEARING SHADES OF THAT BIG FAT GREEK WEDDING HERE. YOU MUST HAVE THIS. WAS THERE ANY OF THAT? YOU MUST HAVE THIS TRADITION, YOU MUST HAVE IT?

Effie says MY PARENTS KNOW BETTER THAN THAT.

Mary says HOW ABOUT FOR YOU?

The caption changes to "Punam Atwal. Sikh wedding."

Punam says WELL I THINK THAT WE INCORPORATED ALMOST ALL OF THE TRADITIONS OF THE ZR MOANY AND ALSO INCLUDED WESTERN TRA DITIONS LIKE AS YOU SAID, WATCHING TV AND GROWING UP IN TO TORONTO, YOU ARE WATCHING MAIDS OF HONOR, BOW CASE SKPRX SO, I HAD A MAID OF HONORS, MY TWO COUSINS AND MY SISTER.

A picture pops up showing Punam and her groom, as well as over two dozen guests, sitting on the floor with their legs crossed. They all wear traditional Sikh outfits including veils and turbans, and Punam's groom has a sword laid out in front of him.

Mary says HERE WE HAVE A SHOT.

Punam says YEAH.

Mary says THIS IS BEAUTIFUL. DESCRIBE THIS.

Punam says THIS IS A CUSTOM WHERE BEFORE THE CEREMONY STARTS, MY FATHER PASSES OVER TO ME, THE SCARF ON MY HUSBAND'S SHOULDER AND IT'S A SYMBOL OF ME GIVING TO HIM. I HOLD ON TO THE SCARF THROUGHOUT THE CEREMONY AS I WALK AROUND 4 TIMES AND CONTINUE TO HOLD ON TO IT UNTIL I AM ASKED TO LET GO.

Mary says ARRANGED MARRIAGES ARE VERY MUCH A PART OF YOUR CULTURE CEMETERY THAT HOW YOU GOT TOGETHER?

Punam says SO I WAS INTRODUCED THROUGH A VERY GOOD FRIEND OF MINE. SO NOT REALLY ARRANGED. IT WAS A SHORTER DATING PERIOD FOR US. IF YOU CAN CALL IT A DATING PERIOD. WE GOT TO KNOW EACH OTHER.

A clip plays as they speak.

Mary says WHAT'S HAPPENING HERE. WE ARE ACTUALLY WITNESSING.

In the clip, Punam and her groom walk around a table barefoot as the guests sit on the floor and live traditional music plays.

Punam says THIS IS PART OF THE ZR MOAN E. THIS IS WHERE WE WALK AROUND THE HOLY BOOK, AS I SAID, FOUR TIMES, AND EACH TIME I WALK AROUND, SIT DOWN AND STAND UP AGAIN AS WE'RE DIRECTED BY THE PERSON PERFORMING THE ZR MOAN EMENT.

Mary says HOW LONG DOES THE CEREMONY LAST?

Punam says NOT VERY LONG. IT IS PROBABLY 15 OR 20 MINUTES LONG BUT THE ACTUAL WEDDING CEREMONY, I THINK THE BEST OTHER CUSTOMS LAST ALL DAY LONG. THEY CAN GO ON FOREVER BUT THE REAL CEREMONY IS NOT TOO LONG. SO NOT ON THE HOT SEAT.

Mary says I DON'T WANT TO GET INTO THE TERRIBLE HORROR STORIES THAT WE HEARD LAST. I AM SURE ALL OF THE THINGS THAT CAN GO WRONG. HOW DID EVERYTHING GO ON YOUR DAY?

Punam says AWESOME. I WOULDN'T CHANGE ANYTHING. IT WAS PERFECT.

Mary says THAT'S GREAT. YOU MARRIED OUTSIDE OF YOUR CULTURE, YOUR HUSBAND BEING OF GERMAN CANADIAN FA BACKGROUND. HOW DID YOUR FAMILY REACT TO THAT?

Rodelyn says THERE WAS NOT A REACTION, NO PROBLEM.

Mary says AND WHAT ABOUT AS FAR AS THE FILIPINO TRADITIONS THAT YOU SPECIFICALLY CARRIED ON IN YOUR SERVICE. WHAT WOULD THOSE HAVE BEEN?

A picture shows two women wrapping a cord around Rodelyn and her groom as they all smile.

Rodelyn says WE CHOSE TO HAVE THE VAL AND CORD WRAPPED AROUND US IN THE FILL FEIGN OWE TRADITION. THE VAL REPRESENTS THE SHELTER THAT IS PROVIDED FOR EACH OTHER. IT'S FUNNY BECAUSE WE DIDN'T COMPLETELY FOLLOW THAT THE WAY IT IS SUPPOSE TO BE DONE. TYPICALLY DRAPED OVER THE MAN'S HEAD AND THE WOMAN'S SHOULDER REPRESENTING THE MAN PROVIDING SHELTER FOR THE WOMAN BUT I SAID, NORX I THINK WE DECIDED TOGETHER. THAT WE'LL BE PROVIDING SHELTER FOR EACH OTHER. SO WE CHANGED THAT.

Mary says THAT WAS OKAY WITH EVERYONE?

Rodelyn says WELL, MY AUNT KEPT TRYING TO PUT IT AROUND JOE'S HEAD. NO, WE'RE GOING TO PUT IT ON HIS SHOULDER AND MY SHOULDER AND THAT WAS IT. AND THEN THE CORD THAT IS WRAPPED AROUND US IS WRAPPED IN AN INFINITY ZUM BELL TO REPRESENT THE BOND THAT TIES US TOGETHER.

A clip plays showing the moment the two women wrap the cord around Rodelyn and the groom.

Mary says THERE WE GO. AND WHERE'S THE AUNT. I WANT TO SEE WHERE THE AUNT IS.

Rodelyn says I'M NOT GOING TO POINT ANY AUNTS OUT.

Mary says WE DON'T THAT. NO, NO, NO.

Rodelyn says BUT ANOTHER THAT TRA DIG THAT WE INCLUDED, I AM NOT SURE IF YOU CAN HEAR THE VIDEO CLIPPER SINGING A SONG BUT LET THERE BE PEACE ON EARTH.

Mary says YOU ARE ACTUALLY SINGING.

Rodelyn says YEAH. IT'S RAINING.

Mary says IT IS RAINING. IT LOOKS LIKE IT IS POURING. NOW, YOU DON'T KNOW ABOUT YOUR CULTURE BUT IN THE JAPANESE CULTURE BUT THAT'S CONSIDERED GOOD LUCK WHEN IT RAINS ON YOUR WEDDING DAY.

Rodelyn says EVERYONE SAID IT WAS GOOD LUCK. AND WHAT HAD SPECIAL MEANING FOR ME AND JOEL IS THAT, IT WAS KIND EVER REPRESENTED, THE PRESENTS PRESENCE OF MY MOTHER WHO PASSED AWAY. THAT WAS REALLY IMPORTANT.

Mary says YOU EVEN TOLD ME THAT... THIS IS WHAT YOUR MOTHER WORE.

Rodelyn looks at her green shirt and says THIS IS MY MOTHER'S DRESS. HER TOP.

Mary says IS THIS A TYPICAL FILIPINO DRESS.

Rodelyn says IT WOULD, BACK THEN AND, YOU KNOW, IT'S 'EM PROVIDERED AND A BLOUSE THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN WORN.

Mary says YEAH. IT'S WONDERFUL. I THINK EVERYBODY WANTS TO KNOW, HARKENING BACK TO THE...

Effie says OH.

Mary says TELL US. GOING BACK TO THAT, YOU KNOW THE BIG FAT GREEK WEDDING, THAT'S KIND OF GAVE ALL OF US MAYBE A LINGT BIT OF CLUE OR INSIGHT OR SOMETHING INTO HOW SOME GREEK WEDDINGS WORK. HOW CLOSE WAS IT TO YOURS?

Mary says WELL, IT WAS AS CLOSE. I MEAN, WE DIDN'T HAVE ISSUES WITH MY HUSBAND NOT BEING GREEK BECAUSE WE DATED FOR A VERY LONG TIME BEFORE AND MY PARENTS HAVE ALWAYS KNOWN HIM CAN OUR FAMILIES HAVE KNOWN EACH OTHER FOR 15 MANY YEARS SO IT WAS NOT LIKE IT WAS UNKNOWN. SO THAT PART, I CAN SAY BUT THE WEDDING WAS BIG AND A LOT OF FAMILY AND...

Mary says HOW BIG?

A picture shows Effie and her groom posing with about a dozen other couples.

Effie says WE HAD OVER 400 PEOPLE AT OUR WEDDING.

Mary says 400. OKAY. WOW. WHO ARE ALL OF THOSE PEOPLE?

Effie says THAT'S OUR BRIDAL PARTY.

Mary says THAT'S YOUR BRIDAL PARTY. THAT COULD BE ACTUALLY A SMALL VILLAGE IN ONTARIO. ARE YOU SERIOUS? HOW MANY PEOPLE WERE IN YOUR WEDDING PARTY.

Effie says I THINK 12 COUPLES.

Mary says 12 COUPLES, THAT'S 24 PEOPLE.

Mary says PLUS A RING BOY AND A FLOWER GIRL AND TWO JUNIOR BRIDES MAIDS THAT WERE NOT THERE.

Mary says SO 30. MY GOODNESS. DID YOU SEE THAT WAS AN AERIAL SHOT. THEY COULDN'T GET EVERYBODY IN FOR A CLOSE-UP. AND WHAT ABOUT THAT, WHAT ABOUT... HERE WE GO. OH, HERE WE GO. DESCRIBE THIS. HERE WE ARE AT YOUR CEREMONY. WHAT IS HAPPENING.

A short clip plays in which Effie and her groom dance as people pin money on their gown and suit.

Effie says ONE OF THE TRADITIONS WE HAVE THAT MY PARENTS ARE FROM. THE FIRST DANCE AT THE WED SUGGEST A GREEK DANCE AND THE BRIDE STARTS THE DANCE AND EVERYBODY... WHOEVER CHOOSES TO PINS MONEY ON THE BRIDE FOR GOOD LUCK.

Mary says THIS IS A GOOD WAY OF STARTING OUT YOUR LIFE TOGETHER. YOU GET... HOW MUCH MONEY DOW GET?

Effie says THAT THAT DEPENDS, I AM SURE.

Mary says MY GOODNESS. WOW. AND THEN WHAT ABOUT THE DAY? ANY MISHAPS, ANY FUN THINGS HAPPEN? HOW DID IT GO?

Effie says IT WAS A REALLY NICE DAY. IT WAS REALLY HOT. IT WAS THE HOTTEST DAY OF THE YEAR AND EVERYBODY WAS DYING. THAT WAS THE ONLY THING. IT DIDN'T RAIN BUT IT WAS REALLY, REALLY HOT. WE HAD A REALLY GOOD TIME. EVERYTHING WORKED OUT. I MEAN WE HAD STUFF THAT DIDN'T HAPPEN ACCORDINGLY, BUT, YOU KNOW, WE HAD GOOD SUPPORT KP PEOPLE HELPING US AND COULD ACT ON OUR BEHALF.

Mary says YOU KNOW, I WANT TO ASK YOU, BOTH OF YOU AND YOUR HUSBAND ARE - U ARE OF DIFFERENT CAST, EXPLAIN WHAT THAT WOULD MEAN.

Punam says WELL, TRADITIONALLY, IT MEANS IN THE INDIA, MANY PEOPLE HAVE HEARD THAT THERE'S DIF ENT HI ARKYS OF CASTS AND SUCH AND NOT THAT IT IS FOLLOWED TO THE TEE HERE BUT, YEAH, MY HUSBAND IS OF A DIFFERENT CAST AND I'M A DIFFERENT CAST. BUT NO REAL CONFLICT THERE. I THINK JUST IMPORTANT FOR MY FAMILY THAT WE WERE BOTH OF THE SAME RELIGION AND FROM THE SAME PART OF INDIA.

A picture shows Punam and her groom wearing elaborate outfits in tones of red and cream white.

Mary says I AM CURIOUS TO KNOW. BECAUSE I KNOW EVEN THOUGH IT IS ILLEGAL OR, I MEAN, IT IS BANNED NOW IN INDIAN, BUT IT IS STILL AN ISSUE BUT IS IT LESS OF AN ISSUE NEAR CANADA.

In another picture Punam looks at her left hand, which is inscribed in red paint.

Punam says NOT VERY MUCH OF AN ISSUE AT ALL HERE BECAUSE, YOU KNOW, WE DON'T PRACTICE WHAT OUR CASTS SAY WE PRACTICE, RIGHT. MY HUSBAND COMES FROM A FORMING CAST OR A CLASS AND MYSELF, I'M HAVE A TAILOR, SEEM STRESS, YOU KNOW, NEITHER OF US DO EITHER, SO IT'S NOT THAT BIG OF A DEAL. SO, IT IS, YOU KNOW... IT'S VERY IMPORTANT THAT WE ARE HERE IN TORONTO AND HAVE, I FOUND SOMEBODY WHO WAS A PERFECT MATCH FOR ME.

Mary says YOU KNOW, THERE WAS SOMETHING THAT YOU DESCRIBED IN YOUR CEREMONY AND I THOUGHT IT WAS SO BEAUTIFUL. I THINK IT WAS TOWARDSED END EVER THE ZR MOANY AND WHEN THERE WAS RICE THAT YOU THROUGH.

f YEAH.

Mary says TELL US ABOUT THAT.

Punam says AS I LEAVE MY PARENTS HOME AND I JOIN MY NEW FAMILY, MY HUSBAND'S FAMILY, I AM ESCORTED OUT WITH ALL OF MY SIBLINGS, PARENTS EVERYBODY GREELTING ME AND SHEDDING TEARS AS I LEAVE. AND I GIVE RICE TO THROW NORTHEAST, WEST, SOUTH. AND LEAVE MY FAMILY EE HOME TO JOIN A NEW FAMILY.

Mary says I AM SURE THERE WAS NOT A DRY EYE. NO, IT IS...

Punam says TO THIS DAY, I THINK MY PARENTS WATCH TING, PROBABLY CRYING RIGHT NOW.

Mary says AND I HEARD, TOO, THAT YOUR HUSBAND DID SOMETHING SO WONDERFUL THAT SURPRISED YOU.

Rodelyn says YES.

Mary says JUST TELL US.

A picture shows Rodelyn and her groom laughing as they hug.

Rodelyn says HE WORE A A TRADITIONAL FILIPINO, I GUESS THE EQUIVALENT OF A TUXEDO. SO WHEN I WAS WALKING, COMING FROM THE GUEST HOUSE TO WHERE WE WERE GOING TO GET MARRIED. I SAW THIS MAN IN A SHIRT WITHOUT A JACKET. I THOUGHT WHO FORGOT THEIR TUXEDO JACKET. AS I GOT CLOSER. OH, IT'S JOEL AND HE'S WEARING A... HE HAD GONE SHOPING WITH MY FATHER AND HE WORE IT AND SURPRISED ME. HE'S VERY KIND, VERY KIND AND SWEET.

A picture shows them posing together with abut a dozen other people.

Mary says SO, I DIDN'T EVEN MENTION, THIS HUGE BOOK YOU HAD. THIS IS YOUR WEDDING ALBUM. IT'S THE WEDDING ALBUM OF ALL WEDDING ALBUMS. HOW MANY PICTURE SNS 60. THERE WAS ANYTHING FUN THAE HAPPENED DURING THE DAY? WITH ALL OF THOSE PEOPLE, THERE MUST HAVE BEEN SOMETHING.

A picture shows Effie and her groom cutting a wedding cake.

Effie says WELL, YES, WE ACTUALLY GOT MARRIED A FAIRLY NEW AT THE TIME.

Mary says ANYTHING LIKE THE LAS VEGAS HOTEL?

Effie says IT'S ACTUALLY VERY NICE BUT NOT LIKE VEGAS. NOTHING QUITE LIKE VEGAS. WE WERE, I DON'T KNOW THE FIRST OR SECOND OR THIRD, I CAN'T REMEMBER, THE FIRST OR SECOND WEDING AND WE HAD A STATION CALLED THE STAING. GONE TO A GREEK RESTAURANT, THE FLAMING CHEESE. SO WE HAD A STATION WHERE THEY WERE DOING THAT AND THE ALARM SYSTEM OR THE FIRE SYSTEM WENT OFF OR THEIR EXHAUST WAS NOT, YOU KNOW, UP TO PAR. SO, ALL OF THIS SMOKE CAUSED THE ALARM TO COME ON AND WHICH CAUSED THE FIRE DEPARTMENT TO COME IN. SO WE HAD FIRE FIGHTERS AT OUR WEDDING. BUT UNFORTUNATELY...

Mary says DID THEY STAY AND DANCE?

Rodelyn says THEY DID A LITTLE BIT. THEY WERE PRETTY NICE. THEY SAYED, HAD A DRINK AND LEFT.

Mary says YOU KNOW, HAVING GONE THROUGH IT NOW. I JUST WONDERING, WHAT DO YOU TELL YOUR FRIENDS, IS THERE ONE BIT OF ADVICE, YOU KNOW WHAT? THIS IS REALLY IMPORTANT ADVICE I WOULD TELL YOU.

Punam says JUST ENJOY THE DAY. SUCK IT UP, YOU KNOW. IT WAS A BEAUTIFUL DAY FOR ME AND JUST CAPTURING EVERY MOMENT OF IT. YOU THINK BACK, BECAUSE, IN THE MIDST OF EVERYTHING, SOMETIMES YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO SEE WHAT'S GOING ON AND WHO IS THERE. I THINK ONE THING THAT I WAS NOT ABLE TO DO, WHEN I HAD PEOPLE AT MY WEDDING, RIGHT, I WAS NOT ABLE TO GO TO EACH TABLE AND SAY HELLO AND THANK EVERYBODY YOU KNOW, FOR COMING OUT, YOU KNOW, TO SHARE MY SPECIAL DAY.

Mary says FEW SECONDS LEFT. ANY?

Rodelyn says I WOULD SAY TO MAKE SURE, CHOOSE, MAKE CHOICES BASE OD THE SHARED VALUES THAT YOU HAVE WITH YOUR PARTNER. AND YOU KNOW, MAKE SURE THAT THINGS HAVE MEANING FOR YOU OTHER THAN JUST DOING THINGS BECAUSE THAT'S THE WAY THEY'RE SUPPOSE TO BE FOR SOMEONE SELLING YOU. IN A MAGAZINE, THIS IS HOW IT HAS HAS TO BE.

Mary says THANKS TO ALL OF YOU. BEST OF LUCK. JUST CELEBRATED HER FIRST ANNIVERSARY, HER WEDDING ANNIVERSARY THIS PAST WEEK WITH HER HUSBAND, JOEL; STILL A NEWLYWED AND SHE AND WILL CELEBRATE THE FIRST ANNIVERSARY IN AUGUST AND ETHY AND HER HUSBAND LOU ARE EXPECTING THEIR FIRST BABY IN THE FALL.
