(music plays)

Fast colourful clips show the title: “VOX TV.”

Next, the Host appears on screen. She’s looking at a collection of tapes labeled in different colors in a big storing room. She’s in her twenties. She has short dark hair down to the shoulders with pink highlights. She wears a printed purple and grey T-shirt and jeans.

She says
COMING UP RIGHT AROUND
THE CORNER AT 7 O'CLOCK
WE'VE AN ALL NEW
EPISODE OF
TRAIL BOUND,
WHERE WE'LL
FOLLOW TEN TEENS
AS THEY FACE THE
RISKS AND CHALLENGES
OF AN OUTDOOR ADVENTURE.
BUT FIRST, WE'LL FIND
OUT WHAT IT'S LIKE
TO GO THROUGH A TALENT
SEARCH COMPETITION
WHEN WE FOLLOW YOUNG
ASPIRING SINGER,
JOSEE BOUDREAU THROUGH THE
KRG CHILDREN'S CHARITY'S
CANADIAN IDOL SEARCH.
JOSEE IS AN INCREDIBLY
TALENTED SINGER
AND PERFORMER.
SO LOOK OUT KELLY CLARKSON,
'CAUSE HERE COMES JOSEE.

(music plays)

A black slate pops up. It reads “110 contestants. 9 finalists. 1 winner.”

Young Josée appears next. She has short red hair down to the shoulders and wears a pink dress with white details and rounded earrings. As she speaks, clips show someone doing her hair and make-up. A caption reads “Josée.”

The Host says
HOW DID YOU HEAR ABOUT
THE KRG TALENT SEARCH?

Josée says
I GO TO RANDOLPH ACADEMY
FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS
AND JEFFREY HEWARD IS
ONE OF MY TEACHERS,
MUSICAL THEATRE
PRESENTATION TEACHER.
AND HE TALKED TO ME
ABOUT IT AND SAID THAT
IT WOULD BE A GOOD THING
FOR ME TO GO EXPERIENCE
WHAT AN AUDITION
ACTUALLY WAS
AND IF I MADE IT TO
THE COMPETITION,
IT WOULD BE EVEN BETTER.

Next, Josée sings a song and the lyrics go
I'M WALKING ON SUNSHINE
WHOA, OH, OH.

The Host says
WHAT INSPIRES
YOU TO SING?

Josée says
BASICALLY, JUST BEING
AN AUDIENCE MEMBER
AND LOOKING AT SOMEONE
WHO'S SINGING
AND JUST SEEING HOW THEY
CAN AFFECT ME AND HOW
THEY CAN CHANGE WHAT I'M
THINKING AT THAT MOMENT.

(music plays)

The Host says
WHAT WOULD IT MEAN FOR YOU
TO WIN THE COMPETITION?

Josée says
WHAT WOULD IT MEAN?
IT WOULD MEAN A LOT.
IT WOULD MEAN THAT
SOME PEOPLE OUT THERE
DO THINK I DO HAVE WHAT IT
TAKES TO BECOME A POP STAR
OR A SINGER, AND THAT IS
BASICALLY WHAT I LIVE FOR.
IT'S OKAY THAT I SAY THAT
I WANT TO BE A SINGER,
BUT IF NOBODY WANTS TO LISTEN
TO ME, WHAT'S THE POINT?

A new slate pops up. It reads “It’s show time!”

The audience watches a group of young performers formed on stage.

The Host says
HOW DID YOU GET THE IDEA OF
DOING A CANADIAN TALENT SEARCH?

The caption changes to “Steven Wise. Chief Executive Officer, KRG.” Steven appears on screen. He’s in his late forties. He has short dark hair neatly combed and wears glasses, a fitted white shirt and a striped black suit.

Steven says
WE DO TWO FUNCTIONS A YEAR FOR
KRG'S CHILDREN'S CHARITY
TO TRY AND KEEP OUR COMMITMENTS
TO THE VARIOUS CHARITIES.
THE DIFFICULT THING IS TRYING
TO FIND SOMETHING DIFFERENT
THAT DOESN'T END UP BEING
JUST A TABLE FOR TEN
SITTING AROUND
AND TALKING.

Meanwhile, Josée sings on stage. The lyrics go
BE MINE
IF I COULD DREAM.

Steven continues
WE THOUGHT WE COULD
TIE IN WHAT WE DO
WITH OUR KIDS'
CHARITY WITH TALENT
AND ACTUALLY GIVE A CHANCE
FOR SOME YOUNG KIDS
TO A, PERFORM IN
FRONT OF A BIG CROWD,
AND B, MAKE SOME
MONEY WHILE DOING IT.

The lyrics continue
I'M GONNA BE STRONG.

The Host says
HOW WILL THE FINALISTS
BE CHOSEN TONIGHT?

Steven says
BY THE AUDIENCE.
ACTUALLY THIS
IS A COMPLETE
AUDIENCE VOTING DEAL.
THE NINE OF THEM ARE
GOING TO GO OUT THERE
AND SING THEIR
HEARTS OUT.
THE AUDIENCE IS
GOING TO VOTE.
WE'RE GOING TO BRING
OUT THREE FINALISTS.
AND THEN WE'RE GOING TO
CROWN Miss KRG IDOL!

As he speaks, the clips show the judges taking notes and scoring the performances.

The Host says
WHAT DO YOU LOOK FOR
WHEN YOU'RE JUDGING?
WHAT'S THE QUALITY?

The caption changes to “Faye Raou. Event producer.” She’s in her forties. She has short blond straight hair down to the shoulders and wears a deep purple sleeveless turtleneck dress and pearl earrings.

She says
THE LOVE AND THE
PASSION BEHIND IT.
AS A PERFORMER, I
THINK THERE DEFINITELY
HAS TO BE A LOVE AND
A PASSION BEHIND IT.
WHEN YOU LOVE
SOMETHING THAT MUCH,
YOU GIVE IT YOUR ALL.
YOU GIVE IT MORE
THAN YOUR ALL.

New numbers come on stage. They sing songs with the lyrics that go
GIVE IT UP, BABY
I HEAR YOU'RE DOING FINE
MY LOVE HAS COME ALONG
NOW EVERY TIME I GO
FOR THE MAILBOX
GOTTA HOLD MYSELF DOWN.

A judge hands the presenter a paper sheet.

She says
THERE YOU GO.

The Presenter says LET'S GO.

Back on stage, the contestants are awaiting for the results.

The Presenter says
AND NOW, WE'RE GOING
TO ALLOW YOU TO HAND
THE CHEQUE OVER TO JOSEE
MICHELLE BOUDREAU!

The crowd cheers Josée as she hugs and greets her fellow contestants. She looks happy.

She says
I TOLD MYSELF BEFORE
GOING ON STAGE
THAT I WASN'T SURE.
I WAS REALLY UNSURE SO I
WAS VERY, VERY NERVOUS.
BECAUSE I KNEW THE
COMPETITION WAS SO BIG.
I WAS LIKE, JUST GO OUT THERE
AND BANG YOUR FIRST SONG,
AND IF YOU DON'T WIN, IT
DOESN'T REALLY MATTER.
BECAUSE I KNEW THERE WOULD
BE IMPORTANT PEOPLE AROUND
AND JUST SELL
WHAT YOU HAVE.
IT WENT A LOT BETTER
THAT I THOUGHT IT WOULD.
[cheers and applause]
The Host concludes
UP NEXT, WE HAVE
DAY 2 OF
TRAIL BOUND.
IN THIS EPISODE, WE'LL
SEE HOW THE GROUP DEALS
WITH A LIGHTNING STORM,
MEDICAL CHALLENGES
AND A ROCK CLIMBING
ADVENTURE.
TAKE A LOOK.
