A caption against a black background reads "Steve Smith a.k.a. 'Red Green'. Comedian."

Steve is in his forties, has a gray and brown full beard, short brown hair, and is wearing a blue shirt.

He says A LOT OF PEOPLE WHO HAVE
AN OPINION ON TEACHING
HAVE NEVER TAUGHT.
I DID IT FOR 2 YEARS,
AND I CAN TELL YOU
YOU CANNOT FAKE TEACHING.
I MEAN, YOU'RE UP THERE,
YOU'RE UNDER THE GUN.
I'VE HAD LOTS
OF OTHER JOBS.
YOU CAN HAVE A NORMAL JOB
WORKING A 40-HOUR WEEK,
YOU'RE UNDER THE GUN
FOR ABOUT 17 MINUTES
OUT OF THE 40 HOURS.
WHEN YOU'RE TEACHING
YOU'RE UNDER THE GUN
EVERY MINUTE OF EVERY
HOUR THAT YOU'RE UP THERE.
AND THE KIDS... THE
SCRUTINY FROM THOSE KIDS.
YOU CAN'T GET AWAY
WITH ANYTHING.
THEY ARE THE
ULTIMATE TRUTH.
YOU GIVE THE KIDS A REPORT
CARD MAYBE THREE TIMES A YEAR.
THEY GIVE YOU ONE
EVERY FIVE MINUTES.
IT'S A REALLY TOUGH JOB.
THESE ARE PEOPLE WHO'VE
DECIDED TO TRY AND HELP
THE NEXT GENERATION.
THE BASIC ESSENTIAL TRUTH
IS THAT IT DRAWS PEOPLE
TO WANT TO DO
GOOD FOR SOCIETY.
AND WE GOT TO BE
CAREFUL THAT WE DON'T
LOSE OUR RESPECT
FOR THOSE PEOPLE.

A quote appears against a black background. It reads "Education is simply the soul of a society as it passes from one generation to another. G.K. Chesterton."
