Vamizi: Cradle of Coral

The remote Indian Ocean island of Vamizi is home to some of the world's oldest and most pristine coral reefs - a virtual wonderland of marine biodiversity. The area is an undersea nursery, a critical breeding and birthing ground for hundreds of species of fish and marine mammals. Nearly one-third of the world's coral reefs are dying, but Vamizi's reefs have been fortunate. Now, an international science team is on a mission to protect the island.
