Some people enjoy rollercoasters; others devour insanely hot peppers. Then there are those who love horror above all else. To celebrate the Halloween season, TVO Haunts looks at three sides of the multifaceted world of horror culture.

Illusionist Ryan Brown takes us to a world of grotesque magic at his stage show at Screemers, a haunted venue at Exhibition Place in Toronto.

Jim Shedden, co-curator of Guillermo del Toro: At Home With Monsters, an exhibition now on at the Art Gallery of Ontario, guides us through the ways modern horror culture is evolving — while the director’s monsters lurk in the background.

And Paul Hopkins shows us the inner workings of the animatronic ghosts, goblins, and demons he makes in his Scarborough studio.
