The landscape of the north has changed for the 2018 election. The province's two largest ridings have been split up, creating two new northern seats. First Nations people make up the majority of one riding, Francophone Ontarians the other. The northern electoral races will touch on issues like First Nations rights, resource extraction, and support for the north. Jon Thompson covers northwestern Ontario regularly for TVO and has been following these changes closely.
