Do you share TVO's passion for new perspectives, in-depth storytelling, and documentary filmmaking?

Is there a story that needs to be told in celebration of Ontario's 150th anniversary?

Perhaps ...

  • A special place others in the province need to know about?
  • A famous or not-so-famous Ontarian we should meet?
  • An innovation, invention or food that would not have existed without Ontario?
  • An untold story about life in this province or the values we hold dear?

To coincide with next year's sesquicentennial celebrations for Canada and the province, the theme for the 2017 edition of TVO's Short Doc Contest is Celebrate Ontario 150. We're looking for original short docs, no more than 4 minutes and 45 seconds in length, that will inspire curiosity, deepen understanding, or simply celebrate our fine province. We'll showcase these docs online and on the air.

We'll announce full contest details and start accepting entries on Nov. 21. In the meantime, here's another look at this year's winners.
