It's official: Canada is counting down to one of its most significant anniversaries.
On July 1, the country will observe its 150th birthday, and already, governments, corporations, and other organizations are planning their own Canada 150 celebrations.
One artistic creation that surely is worth celebrating: the most iconic guitar ever created in this country. In fact, it’s not only a guitar made in Canada, but a guitar made of Canada.
A decade ago, Jowi Taylor created the “Six String Nation” guitar out of more than 60 pieces of Canadiana — everything from bits of Wayne Gretzky’s hockey stick, to parts of seats from Toronto's Massey Hall, to ore from Sudbury’s nickel mines. We thought we’d check in with Canada’s most famous guitar on its 10th birthday, and see how it plans to celebrate our 150th. Watch our conversation above.
