Premiering Tuesday, September 7, 2021 on TVOkids and streaming after on, YouTube and Roku, TVOkids Original Step by Step Let’s Dance is an unscripted, upbeat dance coaching series for children three to eight years old.

“After being stuck at home for so long, so many of us are looking to be more active. Step by Step Let’s Dance inspires our young TVOkids audience to get up on their feet,” says Marney Malabar, Director of Kids TV at TVO. “The series highlights incredibly talented young dancers and makes it possible for kids to learn new skills while discovering their own signature dance moves.”

Co-produced by TVOkids and Pillango Productions, Step by Step Let’s Dance is set inside National Ballet School of Canada studios and features a diverse group of kids with big personalities who love to dance. Each child learns a simple dance routine from a broad range of dance styles, and every seven-minute episode ends with a finale performance at a surprise location.

From breakdancing to Bollywood, country to K-pop, dancers explore the world of movement as they mash up a variety of dance styles like ballet with breakdancing and disco with finger-tutting. The dance routines have been thoughtfully created for any age and skill level by choreographer Jordan Clark (winner of So You Think You Can Dance and star of The Next Step). Viewers will also hear about the challenges the young dancers encounter and overcome in short video confessionals shared in each episode.
