Why alcohol is a greater health risk for women. The health damage caused by alcohol abuse is well documented, but new information is now emerging how alcoholism is affecting Canada's aging population. Older women are particularly vulnerable. In fact, women who drink put their health at much greater risk than men. Lucille Toth denied she had a problem for years until her drinking nearly destroyed her and her family.

New risks from an old disease.

For the first time in Canada you can now immunize your children against chicken pox. But why vaccinate our kids against an illness that seems fairly innocuous and is just another part of growing up? According to Dr. Stephen Moss, the itchy red bumps may not be so innocent. Stephen Moss is a pediatrician and assistant professor of pediatrics at the University of Toronto. Women don't pay for mammography tests to screen for breast cancer but men pay for the psa test to screen for prostate cancer. Is there a gender bias in health care funding?
