How one small gland
affects thousands of Canadian women. Hypothyroidism is a potentially
fatal condition that often goes undiagnosed and as many as half a million
Canadian women may have it. The symptoms, such as fatigue and weight
gain, are so common that many doctors simply miss it. One day it's broccoli,
the next day it's soy. And now the best thing to prevent cancer, we're
told, is tomatoes. The general public's interest in the connection between
what we put into our bodies and how that affects our health has fueled

an oncologist at Sunnybrook Regional Cancer Centre and Anet Mor, a registered
dietician work up a menu for cancer prevention. When Viagra, the male
impotency drug, hit the Canadian market, more than 55 thousand men got
a prescription in the first month alone. But is this latest treatment
for impotency the cure for sagging sex lives? Or a quick fix that only
works on part of the problem? Urologist Dr. Richard Casey has a Second
Opinion.
