As a journalist and broadcaster for 17 years, Maureen
Taylor brings a wealth of experience to her on-air
roles on TVO.
After earning
a degree in journalism from Toronto's Ryerson
Polytechnic Institute in 1983, Taylor started her
career as a reporter for CBC television in Windsor. Then
came stints for CBC Radio and Television in Regina, Ottawa, and
Toronto.
Taylor has two children, a girl and a boy (Taylor and Conor),
aged 14 and
10. She juggles a busy home life with husband Jamie Purdon,
executive producer
of CBCs As It Happens.
Maureen
has won ACTRA and Canadian Nurses Association awards for her medical
documentaries and this year, shes been nominated for a Gemini
award for Best Host in a Lifestyle or Performing Arts Series.
