The
Warning Signs of Stroke
A recent study by the Heart and Stroke Foundation found that less than
40% of Canadians can name one or more warning signs of stroke. The fact
is, the longer you wait, the greater the damage. It's a lesson Susan
Birkenshaw learned the hard way.
Health
Insurance
Canadians assume all their expenses are covered by our publicly-funded
healthcare system. But research shows we pay 30 per cent of our healthcare
costs either directly or through our private health insurance. And many
predict that this trend toward making the user pay, will only get worse.
Should you be buying into or topping up your private health insurance?
Maureen interviews Charlie Black, senior advisor with the Canadian Life
and Health Insurance Association, and Wendy Armstrong, a registered
nurse and past president of the Alberta chapter of the the Consumers'
Association of Canada.
