"This show will help you take control of your own health. Tune in and get
recharged, revived, and inspired to take better care of your body and
mind."
- Leslie Jones, Host.

Do you want to keep feeling vibrant, healthy and alive? Many of us are living longer, and against the backdrop of this demographic reality, TVOntario continues to present Your Health. This topical weekly consumer-oriented health show is geared to all people and all age groups from active seniors, health-conscious boomers, sports-minded teens and young adults, to the parents of young children.

The program, hosted by TVO's personable Leslie Jones presents a practical, up-to-date, and dynamic 30 minutes of news, research, and just plain facts to help you make informed decisions about health-care planning, products, and procedures.

The show will discuss the benefits of using vitamins and nutrition to boost well-being, the value of various forms of exercise, and the handling of such common health concerns as workplace stress, sports injuries, migraines, back problems, arthritis, and the occupational hazards of regular computer use. A range of guests, from nurses, physiotherapists, and patient advocates to family doctors and medical specialists, will provide a diversity of opinions and expertise. They'll tell us how to ask the right questions, stay on top of common health problems before they arise, and generally how to increase our energy and zest for life.

In the face of the growing array of health-care options, cutbacks to our health services, and the reality of extended lifespans, Your Health will arm you with useful information. The program will present regular news updates on the latest in health news; a regular field feature called "Walk-in Doc" profile patients seeking various treatments and cures; "No Appointment Necessary," a seven- to ten-minute in-studio interview with a health professional, provides advice and information on a variety of medical issues; a guest with an alternative or unusual view of health care offers a "Second Opinion." The show closes with questions from viewers, with doctors and other health professionals invited to explain and shed light on the query at hand. It offers viewers a chance to get expert advice from some of the best medical practitioners in the country, and ultimately to get a better handle on their health. In this way, Your Health offers a new and much-needed medical resource, especially for those in underserviced communities around the province. "This show is about health, not disease.

We focus on issues of everyday health care, current research, and available options to arm people with the knowledge they need to take care of themselves well," says Jones. Cathy Perry, the show's producer, adds, "I think it's very important for people to take an active role in their own health care. Your Health provides context, as well as advice from both patients and experts about the confusing and often contradictory scientific and health opinions that surround us."
