Students and Teachers Needed for Television!
In the spirit of TVO’s “SWAP-TV” comes a new series called “SCHOOLED”. It’s the ultimate exchange where students are given the opportunity to switch places with their teachers for 8 days. Teamwork, competition, effort and learning about others are themes that will be explored in this once in a lifetime opportunity. We are currently looking for
-Outgoing and Energetic Students, aged 12-15 who feel that they would have something to offer today’s teachers if they had the chance to teach them. A strong skill within a particular subject/sport/art, etc. is required. We are also interested in hearing from students on how they think a school should be run & how they would teach their classes.
- Outgoing Teachers with an open mind who aren’t afraid to learn from the kids. They should have anywhere from 2 years + in a school environment. Having a speciality in a particular area would be a bonus.
If interested, please e-mail: knordal@breakthroughfilms.com

first scientsts |
| march 14 AT 10 PM |
| First Scientists is a fascinating documentary exploring the history of aboriginal scientific and social techniques and looks at how modern science is now catching up to these ideas. Centuries before Europeans arrived in North America the continent’s First Nations had their own system of scientific exploration rooted in their culture. In many ways, aboriginal science has many parallels to modern methods honed through trial and error and hypothesis testing. In others, this traditional science and technology is fundamentally different, focusing on relationships rather than objects, on the how rather than the why, and on the heart rather than the mind. |

| wed March 16th and wed March 23 at 7 pm |
Narrated by Christopher Plummer, this two-part documentary takes us first to the great thirstland and then the flooded desert that is the Kalahari. In the blistered world of the Kalahari Desert wildlife does exist. Summoned by storm clouds, millions launch on epic journeys, appearing from their hiding places where some have spent years. It’s a world set in motion by a few drops of water. Into the parched Kalahari Desert a great African river comes to a remarkable end, far from the sea. This extraordinary meeting of water and sand gives birth to a pristine wilderness, the Okavango River Delta. Its crystalline waters teem with life, its skies ring with the cries of eagles, and its verdant plains thunder with spectacular herds of buffalo and the lions that follow them. When monumental fires break out in the Delta, an elemental battle erupts between fire and water.
