LEWIS MACKENZIE JOINS DIPLOMATIC IMMUNITY

Widely known as the world’s most experienced peacekeeper, retired Canadian General Lewis MacKenzie encapsulates true leadership.  The former commander of NATO forces in Yugoslavia joins TVOntario as a regular foreign affairs analyst, appearing weekly on TVO’s flagship current affairs program Studio 2 and Diplomatic Immunity – many call this show the most intelligent foreign affairs discussion on the dial.

It's also a series that explores how movies are made. A fascinating new series in which teenagers are housed and taught in a 1950’s style boarding school to see if they measure up to the educational standards of their parents. Under strict supervision, students are dressed in uniforms, forced to eat an austere diet and exercise daily. No cell phones, hairspray, junk food or makeup are allowed. FOSTER YOUTH LITERACY: SPELLING BEE OF CANADA

The Spelling Bee of Canada organizes regional spelling bee competitions across Ontario for youth ages 6-15. TVO will broadcast the Ontario finals in May 2005. ONTARIO SECONDARY SCHOOL LITERACY TEST HELP

The Grade 10 literacy test is coming! TVOntario’s Independent Learning Centre offers free online tutoring!

Ask a Teacher is a free service that provides online tutoring and EQAO preparation. To help prepare for the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT), students can visit ilc.org and log into the chat to receive tutoring from certified Ontario teachers. Chat rooms are open Sunday to Thursday between 5:30 and 9:30 pm, in all subjects, Grade 9 through 12. Also available are practice exercises in reading and writing.
