Jane Austen Society of North America (JASNA)
An organization devoted to the enjoyment of Jane Austen's fiction. There are about 3,500 members divided into regional chapters all over Canada and the U.S. Members are known as "Janeites".

Jane Austen Info Page
A comprehensive listing of Austenalia encompasses e-texts of all her work to biographical information, Regency society, Jane Austen jokes, and much more. These pages are housed on the Republic of Pemberley site (see below).

The Republic of Pemberley
This "megasite" contains discussion groups and information pages. It's so extensive that it offers a newcomer's orientation page. One forum features advice from Austen characters.

Jane Austen Society of Australia (JASA)
The Australian version of JASNA provides thorough biographical information on Jane and her family. It also features a chronology of her short life.

Places to visit

Spadina Museum: Historic House and Gardens
A Canadian architectural treasure, the original house was built in 1818 (the year after Jane Austen died) and features some well-preserved examples of Georgian design. The remnants of the orginial house were incorporated into the current Spadina. Renovated at various times, it now stands as a reminder of the exquisite furniture and décor of the Victorian and Edwardian eras found in Toronto.

Jane Austen Centre in Bath, U.K.
If one is ever in England, Austen aficionados of Northanger Abbey and Persuasion will want to make the pilgrimage to Bath. The Centre features a permanent exhibit of the city's influence on Austen and her writing. The site features an online Austen magazine with over 500 articles.

Jane Austen's House Museum
Jane Austen spent eight years with her sister and mother in a cottage in Chawton. She wrote successfully there and was able to complete three novels. The house has been preserved as a museum in her memory.
