Carl is a Canadian journalist who recently wrote "Under Pressure - Rescuing Childhood from the Culture of Hyper-Parenting". It was triggered by his son who asked him, "Why do grown-ups have to take over everything?" It has been called a "must-read" for anyone concerned with the well-being of children. His previous book "In Praise of Slow", was an international bestseller, printed in 28 languages. Carl grew up in Edmonton and now makes his home in London with his wife and two children.

Before becoming Toronto Waldorf School’s Marketing Coordinator in 2005, through which he has led implementation of the school’s website, branding and outreach strategies, Ryan was the Administrator at Singing Winds Waldorf School in Chicago. Previous to that he completed his Waldorf teacher training at Taruna College in New Zealand. Ryan is also President of the Waldorf School Association of Ontario and his ambition is to make Waldorf a well-known and generously funded educational movement across Canada. This would ideally enable every family to receive low-tuition, gentle, creative education that inspires students to become creative thinkers, doers, and environmental stewards.

Maureen Neihart, Psy.D. is a licensed child psychologist with nearly 30 years’ experience working with high ability children and their families. She is author of Peak Performance for Smart Kids, a practical guide to preparing kids for the mental and emotional demands of high performance, and co-editor of the text, The Social and Emotional Development of Gifted Children: What do we Know? She is a former member of the board of directors of the National Association for Gifted Children and has worked as a teacher and school counselor. Dr. Neihart serves on the editorial review boards of several US education journals and has given nearly three hundred lectures and workshops worldwide.
