General Rick Hillier (ret.), Canada's former top soldier, on waging war on two fronts, in Afghanistan and in Ottawa.

General Rick Hillier (ret.) is author of A Soldier First: Bullets, Bureaucrats and the Politics of War. He enlisted in the Canadian Forces in 1973, was promoted to Chief of the Defence staff in February 2005 and stepped down in the summer of 2008.

Judy Brake is a senior producer for The Agenda with Steve Paikin. Previously she was a senior producer on Studio 2. Before joining TVO, she was the network producer of CBC Radio in Ottawa, was the program representative in CBC's New York bureau, and worked on CBC Radio's: As It Happens, This Country in the Morning, Morningside, Sunday Morning, and created the national magazine program, Dayshift which received an Actra Award.
