Every year,
the winners of TVOntario Telefest are celebrated at an Awards Gala.
The Gala will
be held this fall in Toronto, Ontario. First, second, and third
place awards are granted to entries that meet the judges' criteria.
Winning students
will receive an official TVOntario Telefest certificate of merit
and their productions may be broadcast on TVO or TFO or mirrored
on the TVOntario Website.
Best of Craft
Awards
In cases of
exceptional merit, the judges may recognize the appropriate individual
on a film or video production with a Best of Craft Award for technical
achievement in writing, photography, editing; or design and concept
in a new media format.
Jay Scott
Award
TVOntario honours
the film and video entry chosen as the best overall production with
the Jay Scott Award. Introduced in 1994, the award celebrates the
life and work of film critic and former host of TVO's Film International,
Jay Scott.
Special Jury
Award
The Special
Jury Award is granted to one English and one French film or video
production deemed to have outstanding production value and worthy
of an honourable mention by the Jay Scott Award jury.
Volt Award
This award is
presented to the most daring and original film or video production.
Best Overall
Interactive Multimedia Production
New media entries
are eligible for consideration for this award.
