Saturday Night at the Movies (SNAM) is more than Hollywood classics. This season TVO has expanded its silver screen to present revolutionary films from the 1960s, '70s and beyond - modern classics that marked a new era in filmmaking. A new era that also saw the rise of independent and foreign films in our local cinemas.
And as always, SNAM isn't just about the movies. Every week between our thematic double-feature is The Interviews, an original TVO program that highlights the issues explored in these films with some of the top filmmakers, actors, writers, critics and other experts in the film industry.
This year marks the celebration of the series' 35th season on the air - a landmark in Canadian broadcasting - and SATURDAY NIGHT AT THE MOVIES remains one of the highest-rated programs on TVO.
