Ian Brown is host of Canada's pre-eminent television documentary series, Human Edge and the Gemini Award-winning The View From Here. He is also the host of Talking Books on CBC Radio One's This Morning. Brown has worked as a business writer at Maclean's and The Financial Post; as a roving national feature reporter for The Globe and Mail; and as host of Later the Same Day (which he created) and the internationally-renowned current affairs program Sunday Morning at the CBC. He has also been a regular panelist and contributor to Peter Gzowski's Morningside on CBC Radio and to This American Life on National Public Radio in the United States. Brown has worked as journalist for Saturday Night and numerous other magazines.

His reporting and writing have garnered six gold National Magazine Awards and a National Newspaper Award. He is author of two acclaimed and best-selling books, Freewheeling (winner of the $10,000 National Business Book Award), and Man Overboard. Most recently, he is a co-founder and contributing editor of Open Letters, a new on-line magazine of personal journalism written in the form of letters and correspondence (http://openletters.net/). His interests include reading, painting, and ski mountaineering. He lives in Toronto with his wife Johanna Schneller and their two children, Hayley and Walker.
